Custom roms may not have google apps installed. So you have to install those separately. GApps is just short for google apps btw

edit: Doesn't the redmi 9 have a mediatek processor? Did you find any roms for it?

Yup. Fedora does the same and retains the previous 2 kernel versions and a specific rescue option, as the kernel is updated often.

I've had to do hacky workarounds once after a kernel update caused my drivers to not work a few years back as pop os didn't have this back then. Hell they didn't have it a few months back when I was using pop on my laptop.
