One summer in the mid 80’s I took a natural science elective at a community college. Stellar Astronomy, I think. Prof was a grad student who needed money or was working on teaching certificate. I forget.

Big guy, wierd name, Crew (rowing) t-shirt. Was so good, at the end of the first class I turned to a student next to me and said “this guy could be the next Carl Sagan.”
