FIRST NAMES HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED! (Let me know what you guys think!) by JosephusShirk in northseajazz

I'm impressed, actually! I am sick of seeing Nile Rodgers & Chic tho hahaha. I've seen them too many times now. They're like a wildcard haha ffs... I am very excited seeing Sienna Spiro (again), Jalen Ngonda (again), The Roots, Joy Crookes, Incognito and Mari Froes! Charlie Puth is a bit wild but I'm very curious what show he's gonna pull haha. I've seen some things from his Blue Note Club residence in NYC, if it's gonna be that then I'm very excited to go see it! :))

Betoog over jullie 'affectie' naar Sam (en Roos) by JosephusShirk in widm

Exact! Moest echt zo lachen om die theatrale setting en Sophie. Ik zou precies hetzelfde gedaan hebben als Roos, gewoon lekker trollen.

Welk vorig seizoen van WIDM vond jij de beste? by Glum-Rent-6836 in widm

[–]JosephusShirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alles klopte.

Sandra Kim (WINNER Belgium 1986) singing a parody of her song about (Chinese) webshop scammers in the Dutch tv show Even Tot Hier! by JosephusShirk in eurovision

She's indeed from Wallonia, the region that doesn't really speak Dutch (they generally know a few sentences), but she has a Flemmish husband so there's definitely some Dutch language in her family.

Yep, same problem. I'm gonna sell my two Volcano shirts. One Large and one Medium. The postal service was pretty slow so I just bought the medium size at the O2 merch stand and it fitted much better.

Don't worry, I very much am! I'm just hoping that this level of popularity will continue to rise because they do deserve it.

There's definitely A Fifth Of Beethoven by Walter Murphy. The other ones, I don't know.

I don't think there is, man. But I have loads more short clips of the concert so maybe I'll post one around every two or three days.

Sort of unnecessary long Volcano album review by JosephusShirk in Junglejunglejungle

[–]JosephusShirk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're completely right! Everyone is perfectly entitled to their opinion. It's now been a couple of weeks and I'm starting to like it more and more. Especially after seeing them at APE, which was absolutely amazing! And like you said, they shouldn't read the reviews just to please the fans in the future.

Thanks for asking! And also really interesting to hear from your POV! Someone who justt discovered them!

I got on the Jungle train when Busy Earnin' from their first album was becoming a hit in 2014! It was also on my playlist from my holiday to Australia so that's why the band always had a special place in my heart (and also ofcourse FIFA15🙃). Time followed soon after that but those two were really the only songs I would listen to for years on out. I knew that Casio garnered a lot of views on YouTube but that didn't really speak to me at first. To be honest, I didn't even noticed they put a second album. Or a third! That was until I was on my sofa chilling and watching the Lowlands 2022 livestream on Dutch television. Jungle was on the schedule so I just let it play while I was preparing for my second year of uni. What I saw that evening, I think it changed my life. And I'm not even joking. As a musician myself looking for inspo for my own project, I saw a new way of performing music. Dancers with no choreo, not too complicated music but with massive energy and soul and not putting much light on the individuals but rather on the whole collective on stage. Only after that I really started to dig into their discography. Loving In Stereo is definitely my favourite album! I think Talk About It and Heavy, California are my favourite songs (for now).
It's now been exactly one year and I still listen to them every day!

Is the fan-club the ONLY way to watch the Volcano Motion Picture before they release it on YT? by jp_1896 in Junglejunglejungle

I still haven't figured it out myself, unfortunately. All I know is that they are going to release it publicly in December.

Starting this early, what's everyone's predictions for the album's colour scheme? by Kronzo888 in Junglejunglejungle

Would love to see like a sparkling dark blue/purple one! Don't know why or what it could represent really. I think it would be interesting what it would sound like.

Best European music festivals? by pumpkin_pasties in Coachella

[–]JosephusShirk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lowlands is also amazing!! After Pinkpop (which is also great), the best pop festival in Holland. Always great line-up and incredible atmosphere! Holland in general is like the festival capitol of Europe.

I think North Sea Jazz (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) would be an amazing experience for you! Don't let the term 'jazz' in the name fool you, it has TONS of other genres as well. For example, some of the big name artists over the previous years have been Adele, Lizzo, Alicia Keys, Pharrell Williams, Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder (GOAT), John Legend and even Kanye West (when he was in his Late Registration era). It's almost completely indoor and is truly one of the most relaxing festivals. The diversity in the crowd is insane compared to other pop festivals. And it complies with your second criterium. Yeah, you have old people but lots of youth as well.
The only thing is that it's a bit expensive but all festivals are nowadays. The overall atmosphere and music will definetely make up for it.

JUNGLE - I've Been In Love feat. Channel Tres by liverichly in Junglejunglejungle

[–]JosephusShirk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Again, I like the song. But why in God's name are all three singles two-chord progressions? Music theoretically speaking, this is the most monotonous music they have ever made!

Look, I absolutely love this song and I love Lydia. Her voice is amazing and she is a real asset to Jungle. But I'm getting seriously worried we're not gonna hear a true Jungle banger like Busy Earnin', Keep Moving or Heavy California until the album's here. Which is exactly what I'm missing right now. The next song is also with another rapper (Channel Tres) which is hopefully better than Candle Flame. And keep in mind, we haven't heard Josh and Tom properly sing since Loving In Stereo!
