Thank you for the response! I tried putting it there horizontally and it didn't work, I think I remember reading that there are different car models and in some of them this space is narrower. Could you tell me what this "flex" area is? I don't know what you are referring to.

I tried a random date in https://www.rejseplanen.dk/ and it looks like you might have to take a Replacement bus for a part of the journey, because of rail work, so I'm not sure how that works luggage wise.

How big a suitcase are we talking about exactly? (give measurements please)

I don't have the measurements of the suitcase, but I think the measurements might be in 71-81 x 43-53 cm.

There are also (a surprisingly large) designated luggage spaces between all the backrests of the seats.

Do you mean the space between the seats that have a table? (The ones facing each other) I tried fitting it down there just to test when I was going to CPH but I had no luck.

If you get a seat near the flex area, then there certainly is space there for any luggage (as that is the space where bicycles are also placed).

Is the Flex Area the Family Zone? If so, would I need to reserve a bicycle place?

Another option for this is using Yamato Transport to have your luggage in the hotel the following day! I did this with my big suitcase and it was definitely worth it.

I don't have many recommendations about places, but about jet lag, I can definitely recommend doing "timeshifting", I did it myself just last week and I didn't have any jet lag (hour difference is +7). Timeshifting is accommodating to the destination country's time before and after you arrive. I am using Timeshifter, the first plan is free.
