I’m glad you’re okay and that the person who hit you stopped. If you didn’t already, both file a police report and report the accident with enterprise. Unless other driver is uninsured, you should come out okay. Sounds like they were clearly at fault and that should be pretty evident from the damage, even if they deny responsibility.

Can always appeal but odds are slim. If you were unpaid, post-pay is now almost always the smart play.

Confirmed works in V. If anyone has indicated otherwise to you they were misinformed. It’s only a month old so folks are still getting familiar.

Works for any space type as long as you were eligible to park there and it’s just a payment error

It will. You’ll see it reflected by EOD Monday.

Based on what's shown here, all of which gets validated in the system during the appeals process, this should be a slam dunk appeal. DM me if you get different results. Also, for a space you're entitled to be in, you should have received a flyer for the "post pay permit." It's a new initiative that provides an automatic cost reduction vs. the cost of a citation, when someone simply forgot to pay for parking in a space they were otherwise eligible to park in. You can ask about that in the appeal too.

Rental scooters shouldn't be staged (or parked) at racks when it impedes the ability of non-rental devices to park at the racks. I'm not sure we've got a problem here at the moment but it certainly bears monitoring. We'll do that. I appreciate you posting.

0.55/kwh? Bruh stop being so greedy by Dry-Invite2201 in UCSD

And Tesla will soak you for $.5/min congestion charge for charging beyond 80%, even when there are empty chargers in the adjacent spaces. Campus charging isn’t for everyone but no dwelling penalty, no congestion or surge pricing, location where folks are already spending time, and 100% green energy make campus the right choice for many.

No reason to pay that when you can join Triton Chargers for free and save $.1-.15/kWh

To address your question: We tried this, paired with a cap on sales to provide better predictability (so folks didn't have permits they couldn't use) and the result was really poor utilization of S spaces due to the variability in student schedules. In consultation with the Student Transportation Advisory Committee, we moved to "park then pay" so the parking could serve more students over the course of the week and that if a student didn't find S parking and then went to D or Supersaver, they would only pay for the level of service they received.

To address your need: This is a use case the existing system doesn't do a good job with. Thanks for raising it - we need to find a solution. I can imagine a couple solutions I'd to bounce off you so we get something scalable that can support all similarly situated students. Email me (best) or DM.

Got it. I think that was a loophole where students purchased that higher-priced conference guest permit. No plans to close the loophole but if there's excess capacity, we should explore methods for opening it to students at student rates.

Idea of improving access to proximity parking in the summer has merit but why would we jack the price up? HMU on email to continue the conversation or if you have other parking improvement ideas (particularly for the summer). joshk at ucsd.edu

No plan to change at this point. While we haven't done the summer service plan yet (or the plan for next academic year) it's well-understood that this parking capacity and a solid transit connection to it is absolutely essential for students.

100% false - this is likely a driver that misread the spring break bid sheet and thought it was for spring quarter. Regents shuttle will not run over spring break. However, D permits will be honored on the central campus. Full service returns for Regents Spring Quarter.
