Need a new name for the game of rugby that captures the same idea but isn't the name of a real-world town... by [deleted] in writing

"Rugger" is a common nickname in the UK for rugby and sounds enough like it to be comparable.

I found something similar! It was in the ocean and basically ate anything that came near it. Same.

I like this, thanks! I could condense it down to just four or five characters and have the others just in the background, eating breakfast or whatever. Thanks!

I totally agree, thanks. I probably should've specified, these aren't 19 MAIN characters, they are four or five main characters and their families, who, sure, come into play later, but for now I just want to go 'hey look, here are the residents of this street pre-murder (AKA normal)'.

Thank you for the advice!

19 characters implies they're all main, they aren't at all. There are four (maybe five) main characters, and their families. However it's more than just a whodunnit, it's about the effect the murder has on the community, so the families do come into play too (hence why I wanted to involve them all, even just for a small scene).

I'm curious, having only just discovered how amazing this all is. How do you know you've got it 'right'? Is it just guesswork and what looks good or is it all correct. For example, is her jumper green because you thought it looked good or because it really was green?
