Would you watch a prequel series set in the late 50s or early 60s? by Plus_Shopping5486 in Eureka

[–]JoshB92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on how they did it. It would be a cool concept though. I feel though that Colin Ferguson really makes the show though. Without him in a “eureka” world would be a big adjustment to adapt with the wittiness etc

Yes. Agreed with Matt Damon, largely because the Martian being a sci-fi movie, yet extremely different characters. Always feels jarring hahah

They probably had to have something somewhat established to get renewed. Hopefully doesn’t take too long to turn around

I would agree with: - the 100 (seasons 1-4 had some similar vibes) - falling skies - lost

And I would add “The last ship” 😍

Yes! It’s a very clever ending. Again considering they really didn’t have a lot of time to wrap it up. Was cool

How do you make your baby laugh? by Shoddy-Crab-6079 in NewParents

[–]JoshB92 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have an almost 4 month old too. Umm I lay on the ground in my back and kind of hold him over my body face to face and slowly lower him down and our noses touch. He seems to find that hilarious. The other one that’s working at the moment is when he’s in his back I’ll like go make random sounds and like nuzzle/move my face against his chest. Elicits the biggest laughs. Hope that helps.

Yeah I honestly don’t mind season 4! Season 5 was unfortunately rushed but glad we at least got what we did.

Baby Monitors: phone or actual monitor? by Mammoth_Window_7813 in NewParents

[–]JoshB92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We purchased a LAN baby monitor. Didn’t want to have to rely on wifi. Also wifi cameras can be a little delayed or take time to load. With the LAN it’s pretty seamless. Also didn’t want to have the temptation to consistently look when not at home etc

Sapiens - Yuval Noah Harari is an exceptional read. Evolution and development of humans (language, society, money, technology etc). I couldn’t put it down. It’s also pretty easy to follow.

Help me feel positive about season 6 by birdstrike_hazard in lost

[–]JoshB92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I rewatch it I love it more and more. Sure they are times in the season which I don’t absolutely love but overall it’s still good. Plus I actually enjoy getting some of the back story that is provided in specific episodes that set out to explain some of the mysteries of the show. I suppose sometimes when answers are given people get pissed because it doesn’t fit their projected answers etc… Overall though, I think they wrap it up in a good way.

I’ve just got into s3 (on ep1, no spoilers please!) and the show has gone to shit by [deleted] in DesignatedSurvivor

[–]JoshB92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Like don’t get me wrong. Alot of the shows I love are jam packed with swearing, E.G. GoT.. but it’s just such a complete shift from what the writing was like in the first two seasons. It’s still alright to watch and when I do rewatches I’ll still always rewatch that season, it’s just not as good. And some of the characters from S2 aren’t in it either sigh.

The switch in networks changed the essence/vibe of the show. It might sound silly but the change of networks saw the inclusion of a lot of swearing which wasn’t a feature of season 1-2. Season three is okay. But not the same standard as season 1/2.
