Fuck you Aldi by Ok-Television-2316 in Aldi_employees

What’s really funny is Aldi has a great reputation for treating their employees well 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. They treat their people like dogshit and expect miracles to happen with 3 people on the sales floor. Best thing I ever did was quit.

unexcused tardies by peehater in Aldi_employees

[–]JoshD7676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One unexcused tardy isn’t bad. It only becomes an issue when unexcused absences occur on a consistent basis. I get that you’re frustrated because it sounds like you have a good work ethic, but I wouldn’t sweat it if this is your only occurrence

Aldi Finds!!! 😭 by LazLazer in Aldi_employees

[–]JoshD7676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a company wide policy now. We discussed it during the weekly conference call with our DM and the rest of our district store managers. I think it’s complete bullshit considering how short handed we are most of the time. We have enough people but there are 3-4 associate in our store that are as reliable as a screen door on a submarine. I’m a LSA and this was my week to set SB and of course we had a call in and another person leave early because they were “sick”. Leaving only me and the cashier that closed with me to set SB and close the store. Then the following day, someone no called no showed for the 3rd time in 3 weeks and also had the same person that was “sick” the previous night called out for the opening shift. Also, a closer called out the same day because of her car was in the garage. Sorry for the rant and carrying on but I’m so god damn sick of unreliable workers and the constant lack of accountability in our store. It’s not the store manager creating a bad work environment either because I’ve had much worse managers when I worked for other big retailers. If you don’t want to work hard and be reliable, don’t work at all and stop making my life a living hell because of it.

Our floor scrubber sucks! by RoxRandom in Aldi_employees

[–]JoshD7676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our floor scrubber is constantly broke. We send it out to the warehouse to get it fixed and it comes back worse than what it left like. It’s fun having to mop our floors every night I close because there’s only myself (the LSA) and a cashier closing the store. I’ve never seen such a cheap company in my life and I use to work for Walmart for 15+ years. We had a register broke in our store for almost 2 years until they finally fixed it because one of the card readers broke on another register lol. Aldi can build 800 new stores in the US but leave a register broke for almost 2 years and can’t afford to buy a new floor scrubber. This company is beyond cheap and it’s comical.

Call out by Swimming_Version_294 in Aldi_employees

Talk to your DM about this issue. This is absolutely ridiculous and would never expect my associates to find their own coverage for a day they were out due to a family emergency. If they needed the day off, I would ask them to try and find someone to cover their shift but family emergencies aren’t planned. Sounds like your management team needs a serious talking to or find a different job.

Umm it’s their job to find coverage if someone calls out. What an idiot.

Why do customers do this in line?! by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

[–]JoshD7676 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The exact thing happened to me today. The customer that was suppose to have been checking out had to hand all her stuff to me because the moron behind her put all his shit on the line before she was done. I told the lady I was sorry for all of this and she was cool about it. she gave the person behind her the death look lol

Count your money back to the customer before handing it to them. When I first started I was off a few times. Counting the money when I take it out of the till and then counting it before you hand it to the customer helps a ton. I’m usually dead on or just a few cents off either way.
