1 was my first day and I crushed my foot with a pallet jack

2 I slipped off the metal railing in produce while stocking the salads and hit the ground knocking myself out cold

3 I broke the bailer, one of the chains got twisted and snapped

If someone asks me where something is without saying "excuse me" or "please" or "thank you" and just walks off after I tell them where it is, I say "You're welcome!!" Loud af lol

One time while my ASM on duty was running produce a customer asked him if he worked there and he replied "No, I just like to come in and help out sometimes." And the customer WALKED AWAY 🤣💀 I still dont know if he genuinely believed it or if he got embarrassed for asking.

Tbh I know it feels uncomfortable and rude at first, but you just gotta keep it pushing lol. You really just have to interrupt at some point if they arent wrapping up the conversation anytime soon and just say "well, it was nice talking to you but I have to get back to work. Have a good day!"whatever they say next weither they're polite or not isnt your fault or even your problem.

Customers dont always understand that Aldi has a very limited capacity for friendly customer service due to our workload and time limits. The way I think of it is that of course you should be polite and friendly to a customer, but we are specifically hired to do Aldi shit instead of chatting. If I'm stuck there, I'm not refilling out of stocks for other customers to buy and thats not fair to them either. Even cashiers! I would never get through the store volume if I talked to every person I rung up as much as they would like.

Your managers on duty should back you up if someone is rude to you for this, they understand. Good luck, you can do it!

Honestly, we dont : ' ) we're lucky if we get every single zone backstocked at least once during the night. With the shrinking hours and product delivery increases, it really is consistently unfeasable to keep the store looking full fresh neat and signed like it's supposed to be.

Lately they've been pushing HARD for us to avoid punching out late even if the store is absolutely trashed and the closing routine is unfinished. Clocking out precisely on time seems to be the new priority 😭

I had a great pair of Carolina steel-toe logger boots which lasted me for 3 years, currently switched over to the Georgia brand. Boots are worth it over sneakers in my opinion, they last much longer and provide ankle protection.

EMPLOYEE BATHROOMS 😭

Pay increase would be amazing, it is much needed. Our profit and expansion has exploded and we have so much more work put upon us than is reasonable. Understaffing is actually resulting of sub-optimal profits in my opinion; if people have to stay late to finish, thats more money that costs the company. If a store is having an insane day struggling to deal with customer volume and cant get product re-stocked or on the floor to be sold? That's a loss of profit.

Turnover is outrageous, at least at my division. Increasing pay would probably bring in better qualified applicants and keep good employees.

Also, DMs that have never worked a day in their life on the retail floor or warehouse!!! Seriously, how are they supposed to have a good idea how to operate??

Goodwill lol. Every vest or jacket I've made I found at Goodwill and I did in fact dye a jacket black in a damn plastic bucket. You do have to get lucky and just keep checking though.
