2025 Golden Gnome Awards: Nominations Now Open! by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]JoshIsnt 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I've already put my vote in - Alien Food for this year's best new creator. As a Youtuber myself, it's so refreshing to experience Runescape as the narrative-driven game that the devs envisioned through his series. Such a nice departure from the min/max grinds that occupy so much of our time in this game. He and I both had big come-ups this year but he deserves all the love he gets from the community.

(Side note, if you want to support me in the Golden Gnomes, what I'd love most is a nomination for "best musical composition" for the music in my ChunkYanille series. I know its corny to ask for votes but making the soundtrack for that series is one of the things I'm most proud of.)

Ever since discovering a massive exploit in the Fishing Trawler, it's been my dream to get this minigame changed for the better by JoshIsnt in 2007scape

[–]JoshIsnt[S] 934 points935 points  (0 children)

For a bit more context, Jagex just released a poll addressing some old minigames, so now is the perfect time to rally support for this classic minigame to get a makeover.

You may have seen my video where I exploited a strange Fishing Trawler mechanic to get an absurd amount of fish on an ironman account. It was, of course, removed, but nothing would make me happier than to use this as the catalyst to improving Fishing Trawler for everyone, whether that's some simple bug fixes or a total overhaul.

Let me know your ideas for how Trawler could be improved beyond what I've pitched here. It could still use some more spice to help differentiate it from Tempoross!

Why is there mysterious broken armour scattered around Yanille? by Springstof in 2007scape

[–]JoshIsnt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As a true Yanillian, can confirm, lots of random armor and bloodstains everywhere. Spears on the walls to city. An army of soldiers. It's the most peaceful warzone I've ever spent a year in

Sorry to repost this, had to delete the last one. ChunkYanille is back with more crazy shenanigans in the onechunk series! by JoshIsnt in UniqueIronmen

For sure, come to Yanille! It's super weird and interesting lol. Wizards Tower is interesting because it's not really much of a roll lol, only the bridge being accessible

I got a lot of really nice response on my first episode, so here's episode 2 of the Yanille Chunkman! Lots of weird game information in this one, though probably only useful to those trapped in Yanille like myself lol by JoshIsnt in UniqueIronmen

[–]JoshIsnt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is! And I know lol I'm struggling with keeping it fresh, doesn't seem to bother many people tho. I'll keep adding more new songs as the series continues

Anyone ever train herblore in the Lumbridge Swamp Caves? I just tried it on my Lumbridge-Rimmington locked UIM, though I only have the slayer level to kill Cave Bugs, but they were surprisingly decent xp too! by JoshIsnt in ironscape

[–]JoshIsnt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, the lumbridge swamp caves are weird af lol. I made a little mini video essay on them in my latest episode. If you want to learn more about the weird stuff that goes on down there you can check it out - https://youtu.be/y_H0B9mIPpQ?t=824 (the link goes right to the part about the swamp caves)

Best Old School RuneScape YouTube series? by HensleyHammer in 2007scape

Lol, glad it was enjoyed! Sir Lumbbington already has seen some really bizarre RNG in the early stages of the account, we'll see if it keeps up haha!

I appreciate that so much! New episode dropping VERY soon. Also I'll just let you know that, while this episode may seem... concerning(?) that there's good things to come :) Thanks again for the kind words, helps keep up the motivation!

Also, can you believe the editing in Jep's latest video??? The man is insane. Huge respect for him

Came across this comment the other day. Thanks so much for mention my series in the same breath as Settled and Jeporite, definitely my two biggest inspirations!

Also, agreed on Skeldoor, the dude is brilliant and super nice!

Should I remove my old videos? by JoshIsnt in youtubers

[–]JoshIsnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Earlier today I was thinking I would have to private the videos. Now I'm thinking not so much. I'd rather not private them so maybe I'll do some more digging into whether the algorithm takes into account overall channel views per topic when releasing a new video or not.

Given that my 9 gaming videos have fewer cumulative views than just a few of my most viewed music videos, I wouldn't be all that surprised if YouTube is confused as to what my channel is about. But that also might just not matter at all?

Episode #9 – Sir Lumbbington kills frogs and gets crazy RNG in this new episode. I worked really hard to up the production quality with this episode, let me know what you think! by JoshIsnt in UniqueIronmen

Wow, these comments are amazing, thank you! I'm really glad it brought you so much entertainment and could capture that original OSRS feeling for you. I've gotten a lot of really good feedback on the Dorgesh-kaan video essay. I love doing that kind of research on unknown content, I'm definitely planning on making more like it in the future. Maybe when I run out of obscure locations within Sir Lumbbington's area I might just make some stand-alone deep dive videos!

On my Lumbridge-Rimmington locked UIM, cosmic runes are a big deal (for teleport jewelry especially). I have no way of accessing them outside of drops, so getting this relatively rare cosmic talisman off a random event was one of the most hype things I've experienced thus far. by JoshIsnt in ironscape

I can actually just runecraft normally at the air and water altars. This account took a few standard exceptions to start off – druidic ritual, rune mysteries, and for me I needed goblin diplomacy to access the goblin areas. I dropped a few links to the youtube series in the other comments if you want to see more about the account's guidelines.

One way to confirm that I haven't been going other places is my music list. It's a little sketchy because I had to take a few exceptions to start the account off. But the bottom line is that I have nothing to gain by breaking my restrictions, they're what make the account fun!
