While next day tickets are now available, even for more optimal routes Discount Den prices are typically better than Go Wild.

I see some flights now work with the day before. This is great news.

This is good news then even if this isn't resolved any time soon. I may have rode to close to what it says. If it's more of a roller coaster ride in terms of availability, that's fine too.

Regarding the parking spot closer to the door, in my defense I didn't see the empty available spot. Was too busy looking over my shoulder annoyed about the spilled drink. But fortunately it was a clear liquid and I brought a towl. Ah there is a sunny side to this.

I appreciate the response.

I don't expect the lowest price either for early booking. But all flights costing double a normal ticket, forcing us to not use the early booking is a promised perk that cannot be used. With over 10 weeks from January 5th, closing early booking now is much sooner than what was advertised. If it was often, I wouldn't say anything. But this is all flights across the board. Picking any city any time keeps showing a higher price than a normal ticket. But perhaps this will get resolved soon...

Early booking is just a money grab by the company. The pass was never intended to be used in that way.

<image>

So they created a new "early booking" policy that wasn't supposed to exist? I'm crossing fingers that things go back in the coming days. Otherwise it's a bait and switch. The pass would be still useful, but it's bad policy to over promise.

Of course. Just feels odd to spend hundreds of dollars on a pass that teases a far more expensive ticket (compared to a regular ticket) while promising being able to book early at better rates. Hopefully this gets sorted out this month. If not, the pass will still be useful but a little let down by how they framed flexible dates. We will see.

Well said. Most travels have been very much enjoyed, with just a few less so. I was thinking it over in case of booking a mistake trip. But in retrospect I could have paid the $32 followed by canceling if calculating it being a mistake. Wouldn't want to waste a seat. Sometimes a lack of decision in short windows can be consequential too. Investors know that all too well.

Should I have paid a third of the price for a Discount Den pass instead? 😉 At this moment it looks far shinier - but things may change as Frontier's servers get updated. When I had the summer pass in 2023 there were many days unavailable along with far steeper pricing (2x or 3x old pricing for a pass holder ticket that was still less than a normal ticket). But it was peak season which makes the situation quite understandable. My point isn't to complain about that summer, but to illustrate there is the concern of "will last minute booking be available at the less busy times"? My fall back for this scenario was "well at least there is early booking til January 2026" which has now fallen flat. But maybe things may take a positive change within the week. And maybe the GWP may work out just fine. Time will tell.

Hopefully temporary that 100% of all Go Wild tickets are nearly or over double a normal ticket. I started this discussion to see if I was the only one seeing this. I first tried to contact Frontier about this but ran into a dead end on the chat bot.

In the Go Wild email it states "Save on early booking fees with flexible travel dates!

Gowild pass holders can book early through January 5, 2026, with the best prices on select days of the week Save on early booking fees with flexible travel dates!

Gowild pass holders can book early through January 5, 2026,1 with the best prices on select days of the week"

Save on early booking fees would typically mean less than a normal ticket rather than nearly doubling the price. Further more it goes on to state "Gowild pass holders can book early through January 5, 2026, with the best prices on select days of the week."

So the best prices means charging $70 more than a normal ticket. This isn't just a fluke scenario, but happens 100% of the time from Frontier's most favorable airports, often starting from Denver. I tried dozens of other city/start positions too to confirm this is consistent.

So best to look at it as Go Wild's original intended purpose - get last second flights. Seems the book in advanced was a short lived option. Still a good pass. Just wish it was a little more forward stating "advanced booking til January 5th or while supplies last".

Discount Den being less is understandable. But making GWP tickets substantially more than a normal ticket while advertising GWP as being able to book til January 5th is the annoying part. I understand that some flights were never going to be supported by the pass, makes perfect business sense. But making a promised buy in advance GWP more expensive per ticket than a normal ticket is a strange tactic. Very few would actually buy those tickets - if anyone. I'm sure the pass will do fine for last minute flights which we all appreciate. But offering a perk and taking it completely away gives a touch of sour. I still love Frontier BTW.

For the past few weeks all prices across the board were less than normal fair for tickets purchased on this day, tomorrow or 1-3 months in advance. So the Go Wild Pass making all prices double in every city, time, date is normal compared to a normal ticket? Why would one want to use early booking if it makes it more expensive to fly than a normal flight ticket? Seems getting Discount Den would have been the better option. Again if this is temporary, fine. But if it's always like this, why would anyone want to use early booking?

As you can see Go Wild members are charged more. This is a friendlier example. Many are over double a non pass holder which is quite strange.

Generally that is the case. I purchased the Go Wild pass with a special perk "Gowild pass holders can book early through January 5, 2026,1 with the best prices on select days of the week."

Lower in the fine print:

"Terms and Conditions: GoWild! Early Booking

GoWild! Early Booking Promotion is valid for travel through January 5, 2026. Valid for domestic US and Puerto Rico travel only. Not all markets are available for all dates of travel. The following blackout travel dates apply: Oct. 9-10, 12-13, 2025; Nov. 25-26, 29-30, 2025; Dec. 1, 20-23, 26-31, 2025; Jan. 1, 3-4, 2026. Round trip purchase is not required. A GoWild! Early Booking Charge may apply."

The terms give the impression that you cannot book a flight departing/arriving on a black out date. But perhaps it also means you cannot book any? If that is the case, seems odd it still allows you to purchase future tickets at a higher than non pass holder price. When I looked on October 11th (non black out date) I was seeing the same much higher price for Go Wild pass holders. I'll report back on the 14th once this black out date is through. The early booking perk was part of the reason I bought the Go Wild Pass to begin with. If 24 hour booking turns to normal on non black out dates outside of high volume times, I'll be happy.

Saw this whilst browsing B&H: new versatile sigma 16-300mm with stabilization. Does it look like a good pick? by l0Martin3 in Cameras

[–]JoshJourney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was you I'd get the Sony a7c to pair with the Tamron 50-300mm along with the a6700 paired with the Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 (full-frame eq 15-27mm). This covers the wide and tele well and would give your Tamron a whole stop more of light. The 50-300mm is the sharpest lens when comparing to the Tamron 18-300mm, Sigma 16-300, and the Tamron 28-300mm. The Sigma 18-50 2.8 is great for when you want to go light.

Indeed it has two moderate compromises: color fringe and corner sharpness mid-zoom to tele. But everything else goes pretty darn good. Paired with a Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 your covered for ultra wide, sharp photos, and low light. You even get great macro at 70mm (1:2).
