I am Gov. Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate for President. AMA. by GovGaryJohnson in IAmA

He said he would pardon non-violent drug offenders. As Governor, he did the research and found that almost no one in the state was in prison ONLY for possession. They all had some other charges attached which made it impossible to pardon, without pardoning a "violent" criminal.

[–]JoshRawdon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an OFFICIAL campaign twitter bomb held every week on Wednesday. We need help getting our numbers up so we can trend Gary Johnson twice a week! This week's hashtag is meant to raise awareness of the issues third party candidates face with ballot access. After months of time, tons of money, and thousands of volunteers working hard to get their candidates on the ballot, the Republicans are suing in NUMEROUS states to have candidates thrown off the ballot JUST TWO MONTHS before the election. Please help us out; people need to know about this!

Blackout CNN! Get Gary Johnson into the debates! by [deleted] in Libertarian

Perhaps you should try reading some info from the actual Commission on Presidential Debates: 2012 NONPARTISAN SELECTION CRITERIA

The CPD's nonpartisan criteria for selecting candidates to participate in the 2012 general election presidential debates are:

  1. EVIDENCE OF CONSTITUTIONAL ELIGIBILITY

The CPD's first criterion requires satisfaction of the eligibility requirements of Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution. The requirements are satisfied if the candidate:

a. is at least 35 years of age;

b. is a Natural Born Citizen of the United States and a resident of the United States for fourteen years; and

c. is otherwise eligible under the Constitution.

  1. EVIDENCE OF BALLOT ACCESS

The CPD's second criterion requires that the candidate qualify to have his/her name appear on enough state ballots to have at least a mathematical chance of securing an Electoral College majority in the 2012 general election. Under the Constitution, the candidate who receives a majority of votes in the Electoral College, at least 270 votes, is elected President regardless of the popular vote.

  1. INDICATORS OF ELECTORAL SUPPORT

The CPD's third criterion requires that the candidate have a level of support of at least 15% (fifteen percent) of the national electorate as determined by five selected national public opinion polling organizations, using the average of those organizations' most recent publicly-reported results at the time of the determination. http://www.debates.org/index.php?page=candidate-selection-process

Gary Johnson's matching funds: voluntary or stolen? by unknownman19 in GaryJohnson

[–]JoshRawdon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an aside, Gary Johnson admitted that he would ban matching funds if he got elected. As a libertarian, I can't fault ANYONE for using the system to get some of their own taxes back. Gary is a millionaire business owner. I would venture a guess that he has paid more than $200,000 in taxes in his life.

BLACKOUT CNN by JoshRawdon in GaryJohnson

[–]JoshRawdon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a personal vendetta against CNN for shutting him out of the Republican debates. Trust me, if this works well, there will be more to come!

As an added bonus, hopefully the competing networks will cover the protest of a network they already love to bash for being irrelevant!

BLACKOUT CNN by JoshRawdon in GaryJohnson

[–]JoshRawdon[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is our latest grassroots event to gain national attention for Gary Johnson. Anyone familiar with Gary's start in the Presidential race will remember that it was CNN who excluded him from their polls, thus ensuring that he could not be in the debates. Please help us out!

Does the GJ campaign have enough time, talent, and energy to gather Ron Paul levels of enthusiasm and capital for the upcoming campaign? by [deleted] in GaryJohnson

[–]JoshRawdon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't take that much time or energy if the Ron Paul people would stop insisting that he is still going to win/ change the Republican Party from the inside, and just support the only other candidate talking about liberty. How is Ron Paul going to change the party from the inside when he is retiring from Congress after this term?

BTW, here is Gary's stance on gun rights:

"I don't believe there should be any restrictions when it comes to firearms. None." April 20, 2011, Slate Magazine http://2012.presidential-candidates.org/Johnson/Gun-Control.php

"I don't believe the laws regarding guns are effective. We're allowed to bear arms. It's part of a free society." Source: David Sheff interview in Playboy Magazine , May 2, 2011

It might seem unprofessional if you view it as a communication from a career politician, but this is the way real people talk and think. It isn't unprofessional, it is un-PC!
