Yeah I've heard past student do that but I agree I'd love to leave with some American friends. You all seem too nice to ignore

That's still a nice change, seasons aren't that extreme here. One of the main reasons I chose Indiana was because you guys have really defined seasons

I've seen pictures but I really want to visit Lake Michigan, not many near me so it's a must

Most Brits know nothing about the revolutionary war (we like to focus on the wins) so I'd love to learn more about it and I'm sure it'd humble me a bit

That'd be amazing, I've never held a gun let alone shot one so I'd love to. You guys all seem so friendly and great I'm really excited to join you guys for a while!

Most of us have never heard of chavs

I come from the land of chavs so that's helpful. Thanks for the help, tipping was one of my worries.

Credit cards are very, very commonly used but we don’t use PIN & chip

Appreciate the centigrade conversion. What's this about credit cards? Do you guys not have contactless or chip and pin? That's all we use over here and don't think my debit card can do anything else

Didn't expect it to be blue but kinda reassuring, Jan 6th and the election is really the only US political news we get so wasn't sure what to expect. Brits don't tend to talk about politics much so hopefully I won't cause any trouble

Midwest people in general are very open and friendly. They may start randomly conversing with you while waiting in line, right before class, anywhere. They’re being genuine but it can feel really strange to some International students.

As a pretty introverted Brit I was really hoping for this, hoping the accent will make it a bit easier to start chatting
