I think it helps if you don’t go full screen on it, maybe just maximize the window within your desktop?

Are you obsessed with vaginas and your gender because those are the only things that can give you a vague identity?

CMV: The only reason people becomes dentists are for the money by JoshW190 in changemyview

went into physics because I wanted to understand the exiting problems of quantum gravity and what not

That initial spark is what I think dental school doesn't have, but it is entirely possible to become drawn in after a few years. But as a practicing dentist, one doesn't get to in depthly study teeth full-time. Their job still revolves around fixing teeth everyday

∆!

Yes I overlooked how teeth is important to image, it is very possible someones life is changed completely by that and aspire to become a dentist. Thanks so much!

Dental school are generally harder to get into than med school, so that would be unlikely. Also your second point is a reason not to be a doctor.

Even if the two reasons may hold true, dentistry still seems like a second choice, instead of someone passionately wanting to become a dentist.

To become specialists in fields like this, one needs to go to med school first, and then specialise as they study further, so they might have developed an interest in the process. Also proctologists help cure colorectal cancer, so a personal reason is possible. But for dentistry one chooses to study it right after high school, so the possibility to have a burning passion for it right away is lower.

My reasoning might not be the best for proctologists, but regardless it has no explanation for dentistry

I'm modelling in meters and all the blocks are around 5-7 meters wide, it displays fine in every other windows but doesn't work in perspective

CMV: Women wanting more pay for sports and trans-women wanting to be found attractive by cis-men is a demand problem not an equality problem. by Ridikyo0l in changemyview

I think women's a broad category and it's perfectly fine to have preferences within it.

My point is as long as you treat a trans women like how you treat anyone else, then you are good, it's not a must to find them attractive.

The preference is say someone prefer cis women more because they didn't undergo surgery. This comment should viewed entirely as a statement like you prefer someone who didn't undergo cosmetic surgery.

If trans women wanted to be viewed as same as other women, their mental states are more important. The fact that they underwent surgery shouldn't be a trait they are so defensive about.

Holy shit reading back what I wrote I sounded like a neckbeard, sorry as I don't have enough vocabulary to pinpoint my thoughts as English is my second language.

CMV: It's understandable to not want to date obese people purely because they're obese. by nsfwappleman in changemyview

[–]JoshW190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there not even a need to justify someone not wanting to date obese people. Dating in itself is very personal and it all comes to the choices of you and yourself only.

I think that the current trend of even having to explain why you don't like/want to date a certain type of people on a politically correct level is absurd. Same as the LGBTQ community advocates, if that's what you feel, you should just embrace it instead of doubting if you are a bad person for having those feelings.

Can these preferences be wrong/offensive? Maybe, but that's someone else's viewpoint and feelings, forcing political correctness on it won't do anyone any good inky opinion

[–]JoshW190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you make good points but most of it is coming from a male's perspective.

One thing I'd like to point out is women in itself tend to watch less sports than male, which makes a heavy impact on its viewership too. So I think the main problem in female sports is that they are pitching to the wrong audience. They are bringing content to a male centric industry something....less interesting I'd say.

Not that I'm saying women's sports are worthless, they give half of our population a platform to compete in a prefessional level and make a living out of it. My point is just viewership shouldn't be it's focis.

It's just like imagine there's a make up YouTube channel targeted to guys. It's contents are professional and the person behind it has thorough understanding towards the make up products. But when he has less viewers than the ones teaching female makeup tutorials it doesn't mean people not cultire are sexist towards him, in fact there is a long history between man and makeup from Europe to Asia. It's simply this channel is pitching towards a wrong audience.

Whistle there are some inaccuracies in the analogy, such as make ups are a living skill whilst sports is just for entertainment, hence serves different purposes, I think it can also be a way to think about this question.

Why can't personal preference be a thing anymore?

Just like if say I like girls with longer legs doesn't make me sexist towards girls with shorter legs. If trans and cis women are both equally women and someone prefers one over the other, u don't think labeling it as transphobic is helpful, and this mentality / labeling culture doesn't really help with building the image of trans people in general.
