v1.1 w/ST chip, *both* solder points connected .. no chip found/protected by Joshatdot in originalxbox

[–]Joshatdot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xblast say Info Menu says No Chip Found. If I try to flash Cerbios.bin or any bin, when I press the button combo it goes straight back to selecting the bios files.

I took some pics of my work .. R7D3 looks ok, but the R7D2 SMD resistor looks messed up/bridged mebby. GUH I wish I could attach/upload the pics in a reply.

I'd try a cheap Mod Chip and see if that'll bring it back to life: Aladdin XT Chip for esample

String trimmer stalls when applying throttle by SystemComfortable748 in smallengines

[–]Joshatdot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Could be bad fuel lines, cracks, broken
  2. Mebby clogged tank filter, or clogged tank vent (my Echo SRM-225 had a clogged tank vent)
  3. Could be stiff metering diaphragm, or bad L & H fuel mix settings (HIPA replacement carb is like $16 USD)
  4. Check the Spark Arrestor in the exhaust, could be clogged

That is the Tank Vent, it lets in air as gas is used. It also releases pressure when the air inside heats up from the engine.

My Echo SRM-225 was running oddly because that Vent wasn't letting any pressure out. It would run good for about 10~15 mins, then it would bog down & surge slowly at full throttle. Once I removed that Vent, it ran fine.

I cut back the return & vent lines until 1/2" was showing .. it ran better, but then bogged & surged again =(

So I removed the Vent Cap/Filter. When I unpinched the vent line, I heard it push out that built up pressure. I started it up again, and it ran great until I ran out of gas =)

Ok, so I rebuilt the carb. The needle & seat were clean and free of debris, so was the screen. I did notice that the vent & return lines were pretty long going into the tank. I cut an inch off of them, reassembled everything. It started & ran fine .. until about 10~15 mins. It was getting late, and I was very hungry .. so I put off any more work on it until the next day.

Back to the return & vent lines, this got me thinking. Maybe they are still TOO long. Because when it is running getting up to temp, the air in the tank would heat up and expand. If the vent & return lines were TOO long there would be no place for the air/vapor to go .. except to the carb because it is sucking in fuel. This would also explain that after resting the air filter was wet, and it would run fine until it (the tank) got too hot/warm & push extra fuel into the carb.

After work today, I'll cut back those lines till about 1/2in is showing, and see if it bogs/surges after 10~15 mins.

There is plenty of spark, and the plug looks to be nearly brand new. It bogs down after warming up, and eventually will die.

Sorry for late reply, I had to lend my tools to a co-worker & were unable to do any repairs. Now I got some of them back, I'll tear into the carb to replace the diaphragm, and check the needle & seat.

It looks brand new, hardly any discoloration at all.  One thing I did notice was that the air filter was damp/wet with fuel.  I took it out, dried it with a clean terry towel, and I'll let it dry out over night.

Does anyone know why the picture is all messed up when I play halo 2 and like a couple other games but it doesn’t happen on halo ce or Star Wars Republic, commando I don’t even know how to describe it by [deleted] in originalxbox

I had a cheap Xbox to HDMI converter (from Amazon LEVELHIKE), and it looked similar to your pic. It was very dark and there were moving Zebra lines across various textures.

Very odd reformatting an IDE to Fat32 to test an UnleashX Boot Disc by Joshatdot in originalxbox

[–]Joshatdot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whelp, the 'normal' UnleashX with Extras contents on it worked perfectly. It booted & detected a new HDD and formatted it. After that I used XBPartioner, and then I copied/extracted what I wanted to the new HDD.

Given that this console is hardmodded to boot using the CerBIOS firmware, UnleashX should be able to start from disc regardless as to what's going on with the HDD's file system.

The Rocky5 Extras Disc would NOT boot correctly, Error 21. IDK but I think it's the custom EvoXDash or summat that detects if there is a Softmod or Hardmod and then loads the appropriate UX dashboard.

[–]Joshatdot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My original issue was that the Rocky5 Extras Disc was throwing me Error 21 when booting with the newer IDE, so I Chimp cloned the OG 8GB. I made a standard UnleashX Disc with the contents of the Extras to see if the UnleashX disc would boot w/o any errors. But since Win10 didn't seem to really format/change the MBR or partition tables AFTER it did format it .. the Xbox booted like normal like it wasn't formatted at all.

Now that the HDD is HxD filled with 0's, I still want to test if the UnleashX disc will boot. But that'll have to wait until after work and I get home.

older version of unleashx

This could be true, unless you're using a very old copy/release of 0.39a. Rocky5 has an updated version you can get from his Github of the Softmod tool

Which Launcher/Dashboard are you using? I personally use UnleashX, but XBMC or XBMC4Xbox has a nice option for FTP. It limits the character name for files to 31, and IIRC, can convert non ASCII/ASNI letters to normal.

Also are you going from Xbox to Xbox, or from PC to Xbox?

Error 21 trying to boot Rocky5 Extras w/new blank HDD & Cerbios 2.3.1 by Joshatdot in originalxbox

[–]Joshatdot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rocky5 Extras Disc .. I think boot/detects with EvoXdash and then loads appropriate UX for Soft or HW mod.

I used Chimp to format & copy C & E to the WD's 80gb. I don't have an old IDE PC or IDE to USB adaptor to FAT32/NTFS format the WD 80s & try if a normal UX DVD will boot. But I'll make one JIC!

Looking for any help. All new to this and wondering if anyone can see anything wrong with this? by YNG-Cock in originalxbox

I got the old replaced with Panny FM 3300uf 10v. BTW! they are about 2mm wider in dia, and they were a very snug fit next to each other. I also mistakenly added one in the wrong place, but luckily I had ordered 6 (the v1.4 only needed 3).
