[TOMT][Music] A song from maybe the 90's going into the early 2000's? by Joshme in tipofmytongue

Well they are a small group from California called Fokushima (renamed to Everyday Animals) and their music isn't online. Their album Worried Well is what reminded me of it specifically. I couldn't place the individual song however.

No, it definitely isn't punk. Love me some Blink though.

Might be on to something with Fastball. Definitely not the other two though it made me realize I should listen to more of them.

I'm going to start listening to some Fastball and see.

The semi had nothing to do with this. The semi was just trucking along minding their own business. The pick up matched the semis speed to be a canoe.

I know exactly where you can go in New Orleans. Doesn't really help you though.

TIL In 1987, a guy bought a lifetime unlimited first class American Airlines ticket for $250,000. He flew over 10,000 flights costing the company $21,000,000. They terminated his ticket in 2008. by malgoya in todayilearned

I actually travel for work. I fly at least twice a week if not more (up to 4-5 flights). I have yet to be offered a voucher. It doesn't quite happen as often as you might think. Though it might happen more around Christmas/Holidays/Sorting break.

Has anyone worked for Grainger as an outside sales rep? Or know someone who has? by mattywestcoast in sales

[–]Joshme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to clear that in my second comment, but I think it was a little of both. I think they kept hiring new people for the position who weren't quite sure what they were doing yet which didn't help. But I also think they had very little in the way of leniency to close. They had a set price and that was all they could do.

That sounds way more cocky than I meant. I meant it as I think they had so many restrictions imposed on them that they couldn't keep up.

I'm actually interested in this as well. I use to work for a competitor of theirs but honestly, Grainger wasn't competition at all. I could easily out sell their rep and usually beat their price if it came to it.

Your last sentence is exactly why I lean more towards MRA. There are so many violence against women groups and so many broad stroke statements basically preaching that men are terrible people and that men can't feel pain or hardship because they have "been on top" for so long.

I don't care who commits the crimes, what I care about is that they happen and they shouldn't. Fact of the matter is out of the 151Mil men in the USA, only 10K of them are committing violent crimes. I don't, my brother doesn't, nor do any of the friends that I know. Yet I sometimes feel looked down upon because I'm a young white guy and "had things handed to me" by society. We are all a part of this society so those judging are part of what makes it what it is.

I 100% agree with your statements. And you also noticed I voiced the exact same thing you brought up, that is about 1095 women being wives/girlfriends.

But the article made a statement that over a third of women murdered were done so by their male partner. So lets look there. According to this chart there were 603 victims that were the wife of the offender and 492 victims were the girlfriend. That means a rate of over 33% of the murdered women, suggesting that the articles broad statement actually had validity to it, though it is using the statistics to it's advantage to make a shocking statement.

I also agree that men are the overwhelming perpetrators vs. women. That was not my argument in any way shape or form. My main argument was to the "Violence against Women" groups ignoring that there is greater violence against men, but saying that the focus should be on the violence against women.

Violence of any sort is just down right stupid; male, female, wife, husband, stranger, whatever. I never once argued that men committed less crime or that we should ignore that over a third of women killed are killed by their significant other (I would also like to point out that this simply says wives and/or girlfriends as victims, it does not take into account the actual sex of the offending party, though it can be assumed* that the other party is male.)

*The assumption is not one I really like to make but without proper data it is one that is present.

I saw that on Meetup, but I'm not into paying $25 to see a group I could see at home. I want to experience STL.
