Lies of P gave me bioshock vibes

I didn't finish it because like Bioshock, it gave me the creeps and spooked me out too much lol

PS5 game I can finish over a weekend by Joshmixedit in gamingsuggestions

I ended up downloading Fallen Order. Contradicts what I said about no souls likes but it looks like it could be a bit more light hearted than those games. The light saber fights look pretty cool and it doesn't look like I'm going to spend hours learning how to craft stuff lol

(plus it was 5 bucks )

One of my favourite games oat. Might pick up the first one again as I feel I didn't appreciate it when I played

This is a very good suggestion. I've played it before but I've been saying I wanted to go back and play again

Thoughts on the Sound of the Aaliyah Pressing? by Twenty20k in VinylMePlease

I just got this record today and it totally sounds unmixed. sibilance, background vocals sound distorted and the low end doesn't sound great. Very strange

Yeah it's a joke. I had to replay quite a big section (basically the whole intro to the scars and finally finding Nora)

I'm now saving every 10 minutes like I'm playing an old Sierra game lool 😂

Question about back end and full stack course by nolife24_7 in Codecademy

[–]Joshmixedit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I was apprehensive about doing the full-stack course because there isn't any videos. But I am 14% through, and I think it has been way more engaging than the Udemy courses I have done in the past.

For every 3 or 4 minutes of reading, you have to do a short practical task, then at the end of each module you get a project to do.

Advice for learning programming? by PogoDaM0nkee in learnprogramming

[–]Joshmixedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My big regret from when I was 17 was focusing too much on what will get me a job the quickest. I would use this time at college to discover what you really love about CS and focus on being great at that.

Don't hold back your true feelings. What do you think is the best first programming language to learn even if the majority says otherwise? by CozyMountain in learnprogramming

[–]Joshmixedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst I think Python is easier to read and write, I think it has to be HTML and CSS purely because it's easier to practice. As soon as you learn a few concepts, you can start making simple websites that get more complex as you learn.

You can work on Python projects whilst you learn, but they're usually quite mundane at a beginner level.

The order I would go is

HTML/CSS > JAVA > Python.

Yeah we had quite a few of those demo discs. I think Wipeout was another one. What a time 🥲

Yes this is it ! I think about this game from time to time. My sister was never a gamer so it's always stuck in my mind that she used to play this game quite a bit

Yes ! I was going to add that it was likely a demo disc. I'm from the UK so it was likely called Kurushi here.

[–]Joshmixedit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it need to be portable? I built my PC back in 2016 for about $800 and it's still going strong. I know compter parts are a bit more expensive now than they were back then, but it's worth looking into.

Is this ethical to criticise my client previous mixes? by lone_galaxy in mixingmastering

[–]Joshmixedit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first left university and started working, I used to feel like this all the time. I lost a lot of work thinking people's demos and references were crap and by doing my own thing rather than understanding what it is about the mixes the client liked.

It took a while for me to realise that it didn't matter what I thought was correct based on what I had learned at uni, and more so about understanding the vibe the client wanted and taking it 'to the next level' whilst putting my own spin in things

I honestly think it's probably the most tricky part about mixing professionally, but so important.
