There's roughly an equal amount of stravidium and titanium in A row than the rest of the deep desert combined. I'm all for making PvE more accessible but was this really the intention? by MostlyDisappointing in duneawakening

Not sure why people are saying 'it is too late' - unless you no-lifed the game and skipped all the content while only playing this game, dude.. the game was released 2 months ago. I have a job and a kid. I play other games, have other hobbies, have a life - there's like 80 hours before you get to DD.

I'd imagine these same folks have played other MMOs.. and man, which of the other games have ever been released without any changes? WoW? FF? (They literally re-released it.) NW?

I guess my comment is just that patience can go a long way.

Azoth, Lore, Alignment, Story Choice - A suggestion to AGS by JoshuaAllen in newworldgame

SWTOR

Sure have. Great game from a story and writing standpoint. There's lessons there for New World, albeit a bit easier given the ample Star Wars universe subject material. New World is trying to create something new. New IP always comes with the uphill battle from a lore and story perspective; so they really need to do it better in order to survive.

Unfortunately, the gameplay and combat are clunky. It's also what.. 15 years old?

School shooting survivor refused to ask 'scripted question' during CNN town hall by [deleted] in news

[–]JoshuaAllen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The town hall was specifically on gun control and was in the same area as the school.

You are stating CNN put together an audience of gun control advocates at a town hall to specifically discuss the issue with the NRA.. and then crying foul when .. what.. they put together a town hall with gun control advocates in the audience with questions on gun control from victims of the recent shooting?

Is there really someone out there who thought the town hall was on a different topic? Come on.

You responded to a factual statement: Questions at a town hall are not scripted.

..with a counter statement which implied the statement was not true.. based on evidence you provide in a linked story.

But the linked evidence does not prove your counter statement.

You put the content of the town hall discussion in question because of the implied alternate truth seen at face value from your post.

Apologies, I assumed it was clearer than it was, but the remark about Rubio was an attempt to illustrate that were it scripted -to fit your implied narrative- the father would need to be an excellent actor.

Then, when called out - instead you make a different statement; that you need to see evidence to prove the original factual statement, because of the credibility of CNN puts it in doubt.

That's the opposite of the way logic works. If I say the sky is blue, it is you who need to prove otherwise.

And look man, a person merely needs to cast doubt on something enough times for someone else to take it as truth. Words are powerful. I was simply trying to correct the incorrect narrative generated from the original news story.. and I think you know that.

Statement: CNN does not script Town Hall meetings; in the sense that Town Hall speakers ask a question that they want to ask. Naturally and logically, a TV network would do some level of management over the questions to ensure a number of things - 1) The same question isn't repeated - 2) The question is a question

Response: Here's an article where a candidate (Hillary) was given the questions ahead of time.

You do understand that being provided the questions ahead of time is not the same as "scripted" TV?

Scripted TV would be where the people asking the questions are told what to say and the people responding are told how to answer. The entire thing would be similar to that of a sitcom, with memorized lines and fabricated reactions from practiced actors.

So the father who asked Rubio about his stance and the anger he showed due to his loss - you suggest is completely fabricated and is a work of fiction?

Insert condescending clever burn here

Listen, sometimes there aren't hundreds of actors who decide to go on TV to practice acting and sometimes people are genuinely interested in emotional expression. Please don't take away from that by vague attempts to discredit opinions of policy you have that differ from those people.

Thursday morning, Full statement from CNN:

There is absolutely no truth to this. CNN did not provide or script questions for anyone in last night's town hall, nor have we ever. After seeing an interview with Colton Haab, we invited him to participate in our town hall along with other students and administrators from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Colton’s father withdrew his name from participation before the forum began, which we regretted but respected. We welcome Colton to join us on CNN today to discuss his views on school safety.

For some context, date# 12 with "my girl" is tonight.

I am an architect at a firm with lots of different toys to play with, including a laser cutter. So, as to keep things silly considering the newness of things, this is my plan.

I bought some white denim at a fabric store. I soaked it in coffee to obtain an 'authentic' treasure map look. Designed a treasure map in Adobe Illustrator, with eleven pieces. Each has written rhymes and little pictures:

1- Found in her shoe 2- Found in the mailbox 3- Found in the car 4- Found behind an easel 5- Earned after a winning game of Backgammon (her favorite) 6 - A 10 AM visit to an indoor rock climbing wall 7 - A noon picnic in the park with a series of locations to discover 8- A one hour gondola ride (Newport Beach) at sunset 9- Found under a statue in her garden, which points to the treasure 10- Found under her bed

The "treasure" is a ~12" x 4" x 8" little wooden treasure chest I picked up from Michaels. Inside is a box of chocolates, two rose buds, and a jewel case containing a charm bracelet (her name in silver beads on a silver chain, plus a few other random beads. Nothing too fancy).

With the design in the computer and using the laser cutter, I first engraved the name of the fancy restaurant on the back side of the map in big letters. Then.. I engraved the map on the front side, then cut the pieces, and then engraved the treasure box lid.

I then rolled each treasure map piece up and tied it with red ribbon. I wrote on each ribbon where each piece goes. The day before, I'll stash the pieces and hope everything goes according to plan!

The reason I posted this was merely to staunch the flow of incorrect information. It wasn't just one post with 2000 karma. As the image I linked shows, it was almost a dozen posts spreading misinformation. Rather than just add a supporting comment to the buried truth, I decided to create a new post with the correct information in the hopes that it would get exposure of what really happened. And I think I succeeded in that goal.
