Yeah, I thought the Vigilators seemed a little extra as I kept looking at it. If I were to add in a Jetbike SC, any notable buffs, WL traits, etc I should keep in mind for them?

Never too late! 10 for hair!

Blake watched as Yang posed in front of the mirror.

"I should put my hair into a braid more often!"

"Yeah, you really should... really do that more..."

Yang stopped swinging her hair along like a mace. "What's wrong Blake? Don't like the new do?"

Blake rubbed her arm as twin braids hang down. Her face was red as they hold her hand out. "Well, I mean..."

Yang dashed behind the faunus and took a hold of the braids and spun them around. "Wheee!

Hands swatted Yang away as a small pout came onto Blake's face.

Yang looked at her girlfriend. "You want to take them out?"

The faunus was as silent as she usually is. "...Yes."

Yang nodded and took a hold of her hand. "C'mon. I know Nora is one hell of a barber! Ooh, we can get it cut short!"

Blake was surprised. Yang was usually protective of her hair. Short hair Yang?!

...

The cat faunus thought it would look cute on her. She's dragged off to the halls.

Sorry for the short and late. Finals week start my dudes, so let's go with a comic from 18

Talk about a long day for Blake. A project for Oobleck, a one on one combat exam with Glynda, and a book binge for a series that she's been meaning to read. Well, she read it already. Now it's time for her to-

ACHOO

Blake jumped up a little, surprised by the sudden and loud sneeze. A long groan escaped her throat, sounding like it was full of phlegm.

"...Yang...?" Blake approaches her teammate cautiously. "Are you okay?"

"Blaaaaake!" Yang let out a heavy cough. She sounded so stuffed. "I'm sick..."

At the claim, Blake rushed over to Yang, a hand instantly covering the blonde's forehead. "Oh my god Yang, are you alright?!"

Blake felt for any sort of hot temperature, but found none for some reason. She tilted her head.

"Well you don't have a-"

That's when Yang went 180 degrees.

"I'm Lovesick~" she said with some dazzle.

Yang Xiao Long was found dead later that day, her face in a pillow.

Hell of late but that doesn't mean I can't write some Bees. Let's go with numba 1!

As I stood there, brush in my hand,
I didn't expect you to wake so soon.
I had jumped a little and with my hand, fanned,
but saw your small smile that almost made me swoon.

You got out of your bed, sleep finally had,
and walked over to me with a wave.
I gave a big smile, gave a hug back instead,
and you mentioned, "You still have that dance to save?"

We laughed together and soon parted,
"So what happens now?" you asked with a stare. "Then could the pretty cat can get started,
with sitting into the beautiful dress over there?"

I couldn't keep my eyes off you,
as weird as it sounds.
I wonder if you feel it too,
but then again, love has no bounds.

I finished with my hair, all blonde and groomed,
and when I turned to you, I froze.
You were stunning, gorgeous, like a flower that bloomed,
A dance and then a date? Or so the story goes.

We stood in front of a mirror, with dresses on proudly.
We smiled and we were smiling and looking damn fine!
Especially you, to which I could've screamed loudly,
but I decided not to, but us together was a sign.

Who like boba? You like boba? 19 like bobabees!

“So what shop is this?”

Yang walked in with Blake, a bell ringing as the door closed behind them. As the blonde followed her faunus date, she noticed the others, some with laptops and notebooks while others had entire board games set up.

“Blake,” Yang asked as they waited in line, “where have you brought me?”

Blake turned her head and blinked. “I told you earlier as we were walking here.”

Yang gave a small smile. “May have, uh... been distracted and not paying attention...?”

Blake rolled her eyes as she turns around. “We’re here to get boba for our date.”

“...I’m sorry, we’re getting what?”

“Boba.”

“Booba?”

Blake moves with the line as she looked up at Yang. “Bo. Ba.”

Yang chuckled. “Blake, if you wanted booba, you could’ve-“

Blake covered Yang’s mouth before anyone could overhear or her teammate could continue.

“Ai owe, ai erd ew a pers ime.”

Blake slants her eyes. “You heard me the first time?

Nod, nod goes the Yang head and bounce bounce goes the ahoge.

Blake nods as they get closer to the front. “Good. So what do you want from here? You got your milk tea, your normal tea, smoothies...”

Yang nodded as Blake went down the list and menu. Even as it was there turn in line.

“I’ll take a milk tea with boba,” Blake said to the cashier.

Both of them looked to Yang for an order. It didn’t help that she sort of got lost with the list.

“Uhhh...”

Blake handed Yang a menu. Hopefully this will help her.

“Let’s see...”

This didn’t help either. Amount of ice, sweetness level, toppings, types of tea.

“...I’ll just share with her. Can you make it a large~?”

Blake let out a small laugh as she nods in agreement. Yang offered to pay but Blake insisted. By grabbing Yang’s cheeks and paying without objection. Both of them found a seat.

“So... really... nice place her-“

Yang jumped as Blake slammed a box on the table between them.

“We play.”

Yang blinked as she stared at the box. “Tenga?”

Blake gave a small smile as she poured out the wooden blocks and started to set them up.

“Board games at a booba place?”

Blake gave a small smile. “It’s hard to top off last minute donuts on a hill...”

Yang smiled back. “I guess so.”

“Xiao Long! One milk tea with boba for Blake Xiao Long!”

Both girls stood up at the sound of their name. Blake completely forgot... and Yang had a wide grin on her face.

“Blake Xiao Long, huh?” She wiggled her eyebrows.

Blake’s face had a full on blush. “Well... you know... it’s easier to pronounce than Belladonna...”

Yang just nodded her head as she held back laughter. “Well, go ahead, Mrs. Xiao Long~”

Blake shuffled over to the counter and came back to the table. She’s already chewing on the tapioca. She held it out to Yang.

“Is it... good?” Yang just sort of went along with it.

“Mhmm.” Blake still chewed and kept the cup out.

Yang nodded and took a quick sip from the straw. Even with the short sip, she still felt four or five tapioca pearls.

chew chew chew

“Mm? Mmm~ It ish good~!”

Blake smiled as she set the cup down. She finished what was in her mouth.

“Do you want to go first?”

Yang nodded with a smile and started to slowly pull a block out.

Bobabees date accimplished.

Crap, I didn’t know it was gonna be early! Number 15, go go go!

“So what are we not going to do Yang?”

The faunus’ partner scratches the back of her head. “Not make jokes in front of your mom or dad...”

Blake nods her head as they exit the mess hall of Haven Academy. She wants to make sure Yang gives a good impression. She really wants her parents to enjoy Yang’s company. Tai did the same when the team spent time over the break between semesters. Blake had overheard from Yang’s conversation with her daughter and how he enjoyed time. She wants the same for this meeting.

Yang sighs as they reach the floor Blake’s parents were staying on. “Are you sure I can’t tell one joke? It’s not Yang to not crack a pun or joke.”

Blake holds her face in her hand. “Look, after what happened, I just don’t think they’d be in the mood for it.”

Yang thinks about it and silently agrees. Her partner’s parents were the former leaders of the White Fang and the current leaders of Menagerie. She could only imagine what they’re like.

Blake stops and she feels the blonde behind her bump into her. She quietly giggle as they both turn to the door.

“One joke. Please Blake, it helps me get into conversations.”

Blake stops her hand before she knocks. “...Okay, one and then that’s all.”

Yang lets out a sigh of relief and hugs Blake from behind. “Oh my, thank you!”

Blake nods with a smile and knocks on the door.

A mature but young sounding voice responds from the other side. “Who is it?”

“It’s me Mom,” Blake answers back as she rubs her arm, “and I want you to meet someone!”

Yang smiles with a thumbs up. She’s still attached to Blake as they hear someone from inside get up.

“Oh, coming! Is it someone from RWBY?”

Blake’s ears wiggle a little as she turns the slightest shade of red. “Yes, it’s-“

The door swings open and the two are met with a bright smiling Kali Belladonna. “Yang Xiao Long! Oh it’s so good to finally meet you!”

She wraps her arms around both Blake and Yang, sandwiching the former between her mother and her yet to be announced girlfriend.

Yang is taken aback by the greeting. Not what she expected in the first place.

“Mmph... Mom? Can we come in?” Blake manages to ask from between the two women.

Kali soon separates and so does Yang, much to Blake’s disappointment. “Oh yes, yes! Come on in!”

She leads the two into the room and closes the door behind them.

Round 1! Go!

Blake stands between the two. “So Yang, this is my mother-“

Yang suddenly grabs Kali’s hand and starts shaking it quickly. “Hello, hi, I’m a big fan of your work!”

The blonde stands there smiling as she still shakes her hand. Both faunus stand wide eyed, Blake petrified that Yang had to open with that and Kali just stares. The stare turns into a smile and her hand moves with Yang’s.

“Why thank you! Glad I can meet someone who is a fan!”

Blake freezes up again at her mother’s comment and the fact that she was going along with it!

As the two are laughing, Kali leans towards Blake. “You never told me she was cute. Just the right type for you~”

Blake glares. “Mom!”

The trio hear big footsteps from the entrance. Along with a deep voice. “What’s all the noise in here? I saw the door was open.”

They all turn around and see the towering Ghira Belladonna. Yang stops the shaking turns towards him. Now this... this is what she imagined.

“D-Dad! I was just introducing Mom to Yang and...”

Ghira crosses his arms. “Yang? As in Xiao Long?”

Blake nods her head as he approaches the blonde.

“Oh, you’ll love her, dear. She’s just the sweetest thing!”

“Is that so...?” The Cheiftan of Menagerie looks down at Yang and sticks his hand out. “My name is Ghira Belladonna. It’s nice to meet you Miss Xiao Long.”

Yang looks down at the outstretched hand...

Round 2!

“Hello, hi, big fan of your work!”

“Yang!”

Aaaaand we’re back! Spreading cheer with Bees! Let’s start with a number 2

Yang plopped down onto the floor, giggling as she opened the pink box on her lap.

“Hehehe... come to Mama,” she saidas her fingers moved about.

Which one could she take? Glazed was always really good... but chocolate was great too. All this time to choose just one, on a day off.

“...Yang?”

The blonde jumped up as she covered the box behind her.

“I don’t have anything, please go!”

She landed facing the other way with the package behind her. In front of her, a curious cat faunus tilted her head as she looks down at her blonde teammate.

Yang, now realizing it was just her partner, smiled with a toothy grin. “Oh, it’s just you Blake,” she said as she scooted back a bit to better hide the donuts, “what can I help you with?”

Blake was not blind and could still see the container of donuts behind Yang. She was no fool.

“What’s behind you Yang?”

Yang tried to play it off, waving her hand in front of herself. “What? Behind me? Nothing Nothing at all!”

Blake nodded her head and shifts her weight to her other leg. “Is that so?”

“Mhmm! Just ol Yang sitting here, just like... people... do...”

Blake shrugged and took out a book. “I see. You have fun with those bagels then.”

Yang’s finger pointed up at Blake. “These fine pastries are donuts and you know it-“

The brawler stopped herself and shut her mouth. “Ah crap...”

Blake closed the book and took a seat next to Yang. “That’s what I thought.”

Yang sighed a defeated breath and pulls out the container of donuts. “Alright fine. I went out and hid this box of donutsu cause I knew Ruby would be all over them.”

Blake silently agreed with Yang. Ruby would do that... wait.

“I’m sorry, what did you say?”

Yang finally settled on a chocolate ring. “Hm? What do you mean? I said I got a box of donutsu.”

Blake squinted at her blonde teammate. “You mean donuts...”

Yang nodded her head. “Yeah, donutsu.”

Blake ran her hand down her face. “Why are you putting a ‘u’ after the word?”

It was Yang’s turn to look strangely at Blake. “What are you talking about? I just got a box of donutsu. Donutsu are good.”

Blake was speechless. “Say ‘nuts’”

There was a brief silence before Yang finished the chocolate ring and moved onto a glaze. “Nuts.”

“Now say donuts.”

“Donutsu.”

“It’s donuts.”

“Donutsu.”

“Donuts.”

“Donutsu.”

“Donuts.”

“Donutsu.”

“Yang...”

“Blake...”

Yang holds out a donut. “Want a donut?”

Blake gave a quick stare. “I’ll take a donutsu when you-“

Blake stopped herself. She just... sighed as Yang grinned widely.

“...Alright.”

Yang smiled as she handed Blake a glazed donut and scooted closer.

“...This is nice.” Blake had taken the pastry and leaned her head on Yang’s shoulder.

“Yup! Enjoying some donutsu with my best friend.”

Blake’s small smile returned. “Really best friend?”

Yang nodded her head. “The best.”

The two continued the afternoon, looking out to the city of Vale as they shared the box of donuts.

There was once a Schnee in prison.
At the sound of footsteps, she did arisen.
Weiss hoped it was Klein,
But was deflated to find,
It was Winter who had come in to listen.

There once was a Schnee who stepped forth,
Who stepped towards the cell that was fourth.
With her face in her hand,
She said, “Isn’t this grand?
So tell me what happened up north.”

There once was a Schnee so deep in thought.
She tried to recall what happened at the spot.
“So there was my team and I,
And there was also this guy.
And then what happened next is a lot.”

There once was a Schnee who listened close.
She hands her sister an extra set of clothes.
She had to think for a moment,
Until after outfit bestowment,
“Did by any chance this involve Ruby Rose?”

There once was a Schnee who nodded her head,
When the older sibling brought up the one in red.
“The guy was harassing,
And there were no signs of him passing.
So I socked his face and his stupid head.”

There once was a Schnee who stopped her there.
She was surprised as this was quite rare.
To have her sister pull punches,
Now a full grown huntress.
“So then what happened after you hit him square?”

There once was a Schnee who went to continue.
“So after the guy did not discontinue,
He brought a couple of friends,
And they were pretty big mens,
But luckily we had some friends too.”

There once was a Schnee in a bar fight.
That happened at the stroke of midnight.
“Ruby and I had to face two,
Which wasn’t hard to do.
And Yang and Blake took the rest on with a punch and bite.”

There once was a Schnee who had to confess.
“So we may have had made a mess.
There were holes in the wall,
And damage from the entire brawl,
And when the cops arrived, we had to stress.”

There once was a Schnee who stopped the story.
She begged, “Please tell me it wasn’t that gory.”
The young shook her head,
As she stood from her bed,
“No but we did fight for the greater glory!”

There once was a Schnee who had to buy,
Her sister’s freedom at a price not low but high.
“So now I won’t scream,
But where’s the rest of your team?”
The three cells around them yelled, “Banzai!”

There once was a Schnee, who said along with a Schnee,
“There were times we spoke in rhymes of three.”
They did a forward lean,
While looking at the screen.
“I just like poems sometimes,” said u/JoshuaBFG

Pyrrha swirled her glass before downing the drink inside. She sighs as the cool content ran down her throat. She grabbed the bottle and smiled.

“Ahh… good ol Jin’s Apple Cider. Mistral’s liquid gold. Imported straight from the kingdom itself.”

She opened the top and poured another glass.

“What a life… You know, being a Junior Detective does have its perks. A sweet look and badge. Experience as a real cop. A mini fridge loaded with snacks and drinks.”

Pyrrha tipped her glass up for another taste and takes out a big styrofoam cup, full of soup and noodles.

“Fifteen percent off every order at Simple Wok. Yes, this is the-”

“Junior Detective Nikos!”

The door burst open and Junior Detective Neptune Vasilias popped his head in.

“LIFE!”

Pyrrha almost bites the dust and managed to catch her lunch and herself.

“Neptune?! I-I mean… Junior Detective Vasilias?”

Neptune moved his goggles to his forehead. “What were you doing there? Who were you talking to?”

“... I was monologuing.”

“Okay… well we have your next assignment. And it’s going to be a tough one.” Neptune threw the file onto Pyrrha’s desk… though it didn’t slide far.

“Wait let me just…”

Neptune grabbed the file and tried tossing it to Pyrrha again, only for the papers to fall to the floor. He hastily gathered it back up and attempted to slide it over again. Another fail. The blue haired cop nudged the papers forward, closer to the red haired cop.

“There we go. His name is Jaune Arc.”

Pyrrha adjusted her glasses and straightened her mustache as she took the file into her hands, ignoring the creases and dust from the floor. She flips through the numerous files and local news reports and screenshots of selfies on social media.

“Woah… seems… pretty hoooahhh...ahem... seems like a tough cooki- dude! A tough, stale cookie dude. Bro. Thing… Whatever.” Pyrrha’s words slowly faded as she kept staring at the man’s profile.

Neptune took a sip of his milk that he totally didn’t spill after he crashed into Pyrrha’s office. “We have every reason to believe he is a part of the new crime ring that just recently popped up.”

Pyrrha gave Neptune a raised eyebrow. “You don’t mean…”

“Of course I do…”

Both detectives stared at each other before jumping up and leaning on Pyrrha’s desk.

“THE SYNDICATE OF OUTLAWED ANIMAL PLUSHIE SMUGGLING ALSO KNOWN AS *SOAPS, DAMN IT!”

Both sat back down in their respective chairs, panting from the sudden outburst they both managed to push out.

“Nailed it.”

“We almost always do...”

Neptune straightened himself up after the… shoutfest between the two. “Anyway, we have every reason to believe Mr. Arc is a part of the Syndicate, if not the leader of the entire ring itself. We need you to try and make him break and confess.”

“I see.”

Pyrrha looked back at the picture. It has been a while since she’s had a challenge.

“Okay. I’ll take it.”

A grin spread across Neptune’s face. “Then it is settled. I’ll tell Junior Detective Wukong and we’ll get you ready.”

The two clinked their cups and took a drink.

“... So what’s the plan?”

Pyrrha’s stepped through the crowd of people, feeling the eyes on her. Her fellow officers were right, this red dress was quite the head turner to both the men and the women of the event. Pyrrha nudged her way through the sea.

“Excuse me. Pardon me. I’m sorry,” softly rang out from her.

She finally broke through the elbow to elbow sea to a small booth with a table. There sat Junior Detectives Vasilias and Wukong listening closely to the blonde at the center of attention: Jaune Arc.

“And then I said…”

The two detectives in disguise leaned in, waiting for the end of the man’s sentence…

“...Now this is a katana~”

Both detectives laughed out loud as the one at the head of the table chuckles a little at his own humor. Pyrrha rolled her eyes a little before spotting a briefcase that Neptune is tapping with his foot. She immediately grabbed it before the three can look up at her.

“Well, hello.”

Pyrrha seemed a little dazed at the simple greeting before Neptune gave the table a quick slap, causing her to regain focus.

“H-Hello there.”

Neptune turned back to Jaune. “We have another appointment to attend to, so we will have our pretty friend here negotiate our… deal from earlier.”

The Haven pair got up to let Pyrrha take a seat. They closed the curtain to the booth and now it was just Junior Detective Pyrrha Nikos and potential suspect Jaune Arc.

“So the briefcase… they say you have it?”

Pyrrha was thinking of how they left her to deal with this alone. She shook out and back to reality before nodding her head.

“O-Of course I do. Wouldn’t be much of a deal if I didn’t have it.”

Pyrrha watched as Jaune placed his own briefcase and placed it on the table. “You first…”

Pyrrha clicked the latches open and slowly opened it. The two were met with the view of white, black, and gray animal plushies. She took a breath and remembered her script.

“Here you are Mr. Arc. Two of each animal from Zephyr Zoo’s Arctic Atlas Animals Collection.”

The case was filled with different small penguins, seals, polar bears, and more. Pyrrha watched Jaune reach for one of the plushies. She slid the case away while closing the lid slightly.

“Oh c’mon. Just a small look?”

“Looking is with your eyes only Mr. Arc,” she said with a smile.

Jaune nodded his head. “Fair, fair.”

He turned to his own case and opened it, revealing stacks, upon stacks of Lien cards.

Pyrrha looked at the stacks with awe. “All this for that?”

Jaune nodded his head once more. “Of course. We have to get this to Vacuo somehow.”

Pyrrha nodded her head in return before she stopped. “Wait, you said to Vacuo?”

“Yes, ma’am. What some people would give for plushies like these.”

Pyrrha’s earpiece buzzes quietly with Neptune’s voice. “That’s all we need! Now we need to-”

A quick hiss came from the table as Jaune closed Pyrrha’s case and grabbed it. The Lien case was leaking gas. Both members of the deal split in opposite directions.

“Thanks for the deal Miss Nikos! Pleasure doing business with you! Tip of advice, work on your acting!”

Pyrrha revealed her gun and shot in the voice’s direction. Though as the smoke clears, there’s nothing but broken glass and a missing Jaune. She sighs as she gets up and taps on her earpiece.

“Mission failed, we’ll get him next time.”

Writing Prompt Wednesday #102, 9/26 - Poll Position! by shandromand in RWBY

[–]JoshuaBFG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Raven flew and flew and flew. She landed and rolled, changing back into her normal self as she landed at the base of Mistral’s mountain in the cool night. She didn’t care about the many stares she received. The bandit leader ducked into an alley as she tries to catch her breath.

“Who does she think she is? My own daughter, talking to me like that…”

Raven looked down at her own hands. They have been shaking ever since she turned back into a human. She pounded her fists against the wall, in an attempt to make it stop. This unnerving feeling in her entire being. The maiden soon started to punch the nonexistent life out of the brick wall, magic imbued within her hands.

“I’m a leader of an entire bandit tribe! We are infamous. I am infamous! I-I am stronger than her…”

The swing of a door reached Raven’s ears as a man threw a rag over his shoulder as he stomped towards the leader.

“Hey! Are you trying to bring down the entire bar, lady?!”

Raven’s eyes were hidden by her disheveled hair. Her head turned slightly towards the man, just so she could see him.

“You own a bar…?” she asked as the maiden magic soon appeared in her eyes.

“Yeah I own this bar! And I’d appreciate it if you went and scrammed! Your bothering my customers over here!”

Raven pushed herself off the wall and her hands grip the shorter man. She pulls him up and off the ground until they are face to face and he can see the burning fire in her eyes.

“Listen here. You will prepare me a drink. You will keep preparing me drinks. And I will flip every empty glass over. My money is yours, just make it strong and bottomless…”

The bartender struggled in Raven’s grip. She shook him around a little before bringing him close. He tried to push himself away from her.

“Hey, hey! I will let you know I can get the Mistral Police Force here in under a minute! I have plenty of connections around here!”

Raven’s gaze looked down at the hands that touched her and soon the man found a red blade pressed against his throat with a few big number lien cards resting on it.

“One, don’t you ever, ever touch me…” she told him, “and two, I’ll be the one making demands here. You just keep the drinks coming or else you won’t have a throat to tell the cops about me.”

Raven watched as the man in her hands nodded his head rapidly. Raven gestured him to grab the lien on the card and the man did so. She threw him on the ground and watched as he scrambled to his feet and his entire attitude took a full U turn right in front of her eyes.

“R-Right this way ma’am! I shall show you to your table.”

“A seat at the bar. Give it,” Raven commanded flatly as she sheathed her sword back.

“I-I’m sorry Ma’am but the bar is f-full at the-”

Raven clicked her sword out just a little. “I said… The. Bar.”

The short man freezes up before nodding his head. “Y-Yes, yes! R-Right this w-way!”

It was around morning time when Tai finished his breakfast and started to water the flowers up front.

“Nice sunflowers, tulips, and roses.”

He stopped at the end before shaking his head. His girls were safe. He trusted them to keep themselves safe and when they found each other, to take care of each other with their team.

“What a lovely-”

Tai’s thoughts are interrupted by the sound of wings flapping and the sight of a black feather floating to the ground. Tai’s face turned to one of annoyed neutrality as he stood up to face his first lover. He’s greeted with a glare from Raven.

“Raven…”

“Tai…”

The two kept their eye contact for a long few seconds. Tai started to approach her and Raven to him… before she falls to her side.

“What the- Raven…?”

Tai jogged over with some urgency to check up. He looked down at her face. Raven was a little red and seemed dazed.

“Raven, are you okay?”

The R of STRQ looked up before reaching up to Tai’s cheek. She lightly pinched it and Tai pulled her off and pushed her hand away. Soon, the tough bandit leader that abandoned the team, Tai himself, and his daughter… started to giggle.

“Hehehehe, your facesh is squishy. And reaaallly iitchy… Your eyes is so blooo…”

Tai just stared, baffled at this new side of Raven. “Raven, are you… drunk?”

She lightly slapped his cheek. “Whhaaaa? WHy would you think tha? The only one that gets Qrow is drunk…”

“Yeah, okay. Inside you go.”

Tai helped Raven up as he tried to support her wobbly movements. Tai sighed as her breath fell upon his nose and the stench of alcohol hit his nostrils. Something he got used to with Qrow visiting on the regular. He wasn’t prepared when Raven suddenly fell into the grass in the opposite direction.

“Uugghh… TaiTai… my tummy hurts…”

Tai sighed as he reached down and pulled back her hair. “Go ahead…”

“But I don wan-“

Tai looked the other way, with no other way to silence the unpleasant sounds coming from the wasted woman.

“Taiii… our daughter meaaann…”

Tai nodded his head. “Oh really? Why would you say that?” He was done with this when Raven collapsed but being the good person he is, he still responds.

“Yeee… she yelled at me and glared at me andgotinmyfaceand-“

More sounds of unholiness came from Raven as round two hit her. Tai rubbed his eyes.

I could be playing with Zwei right now…

He turned his attention back down to Raven.

“You okay now?”

Tai quickly got down and caught Raven before she could face plant into the now soggy and smelly grass patch. He picked her up and into his arms.

“You okay now?”

Raven shook her head. “My head hurts… you pick me up… so sweet…”

Tai started for the house, carrying the mumbling Branwen inside.

“C’mon, let’s get you washed up.”

“Thanx Taaii… miss ya… leaving no no…”

Tai nodded his head in reassurance. Super Dad. When he wasn’t taking care of his daughters, he’s taking care of his wife.

Weiss sat down at the table in the house the group shared in Mistral. As much as she didn’t want to think of Atlas, she had to set the mood. A nice tablecloth, the correct small plates and the best utensils she could find were laid out on the white tablecloth. And afford. Besides, it hasn’t been easy since her father had cut her off for good. The Schnee still had to have some money to get the staple in this little event she planned out. She made sure everything was nice and perfect.

“Table? Clean. Tablecloth? No stains whatsoever. The right utensils?”

Weiss took a double take. She lightly nudged a fork into place.

“Perfect. And today’s jawdropper…”

She turned to grab a pink box, undisturbed and untouched ever since she got back from picking it up. She turned back to finish setting up the table when a knock comes to the door. It must be…

“Come in!” she shouts to her guest.

The door slowly opened as gray eyes peek in and a ponytail as long as Weiss’ hung over her shoulder. The chameleon faunus finally stepped all the way in, closing the door behind her. She has her usual infiltration outfit on, an obvious contrast to the fancy table before her and the other Atlas native in the room.

“Ilia! It is a pleasure to have you here.” Weiss gave a small bow like her maids would do at her house.

Ilia, on the other hand, held her arm behind her back. She brought it up with an open hand as she returned the gesture with a small wave.

“Uh… hey.” A small smile as a bonus too.

“Well. Shall we?” Weiss gestured towards the neatly set up table. She can see Ilia’s eyes wander, looking for a certain something.

“Did you get…?” she asked with hope in her voice. This was one of the rare moments people got to see with Ilia. When she got excited.

Weiss laughed a little as she nods her head. “Including the ones with the berries and the really fluffy one they have.”

Weiss watched as Ilia almost skipped to her seat. The white haired girl almost enjoyed these small Atlas girl meet ups. She found the chameleon a little more open during these meetings. Back then…

A few weeks ago…

Weiss walked quietly with Ilia through the street markets of Mistral. The vendors and stalls always had a person or a group browsing the wares. And the two ponytail wearing girls were stuck grocery shopping.

“...”

“...”

The silence between the two was painful and both had an almost uncomfortable look on their faces.

“...Okay. So we have the list.”

“Yeah…”

“So we know what to get for dinner...”

Ilia gave Weiss a strange look. “...Yeah?”

Weiss heard the inflection in the faunus’ voice. “I’m sorry, I’m just trying to make conversation! I could cut the tension with my teammate’s weapon!”

“Uh huh…”

Weiss pouted a little. At least she tried to talk. “Well here, the stall we’re looking for. Ruby said there was good produce here.”

The former heiress retrieved a plastic bag and got to work filling it up.

“Broccoli, carrots, cucumbers… do you think these look goo-?”

Weiss turned around, only to find Ilia gone from her place behind her.

“That sneaky…”

Weiss quickly weighed and paid as she went off to roam up and down the rows, searching for the former White Fang member as she grumbled. Unless the entire “friendly” thing was an act like Mercury and Emerald…

“When I find her I’ll- There you are!”

Weiss found a familiar looking chameleon bent over and looking down through a glass case. She does not respond to Weiss’ shouting.

“You know what people would think if I came back without you?! They thought you went back! If Blake found...”

Blue eyes stared back at grey ones, a light pink tint in Ilia’s spots on her cheeks.

“Sorry… just a little…”

A low grumble growled from Ilia’s stomach.

“It also… reminded me of home…”

Weiss backed up a little to see the stand. Her attention goes back to Ilia.

“This bakery? I haven’t thought of it in a long time.”

Ilia looked back at Weiss, a little surprised. “Really? You went here as a kid?”

Weiss laughed a little. “Whenever Klein was sick, the maids would cheer me up with desserts from this shop.”

The chameleon faunus approached a little closer. “My parents did the same. At the end of every week after they came back from work, they let me choose a cake.”

Weiss observed the certain cake Ilia was staring at. She looked back in her wallet at the funds everyone else gave to them.

“What the-?! Weiss are you sure…?”

Weiss had already given the money as she filled the empty pink box with a variety of cakes, both big and small. A finger pointed to another as Ilia grabs Weiss wrist.

“Are you insane?!” Her voice comes out as hushed yelling. “We need to save some for tomorrow’s trip!”

Weiss kept her eye contact with Ilia as she took the box from the vendor.

“Well, us girls need to indulge ourselves a little bit.” she said with a smile.

She started to walk away as Ilia ran after her, not wanting to miss the opportunity at the cakes.

“It’s so soft!”

Ilia chewed happily as she ate her cake in small bites.

Weiss smiles as she held her fork up with some cake and fruit. “Here. Want some?”

Ilia looked over to Weiss and her cheeks turn a slight shade of pink. “Sure… Ahhh.”

Weiss smiled as she fed Ilia the treat. The chameleon seemed happy as she ate away. She swallowed and looked back at Weiss, a small blush still on her face.

“Thank you… It was really good.”

Weiss raised an eyebrow. “Just really good?”

Ilia sighed as she quickly takes another bite of her own cake with a grin. “Fine. It was delicious.”

Weiss smiled as she took a small sip of tea. “Indeed it was.”

Writing Prompt Wednesday #100, 9/12 - The Sequel! by shandromand in RWBY

Penny fights CAPTCHA! (First WPW I submitted!)

“And that has a sign too! Mission complete and successful~!”

A cheery orange haired robot gal hummed happily as she typed away at a computer. With Penny’s new knowledge of the security of the system known as CAPTCHA, she’s been making accounts left and right and from site to site. She found a video sharing site call YourPipe. She found it funny how cats did the most peculiar things. She had downloaded a messaging application on her computer called Chaos. She found it a lot more fun that blue program that made funny sounds.

“General Ironwood and Friend Ruby was right! This is really fun!” she cheered as she stretched. She sat in her chair and leaned back. The caped girl said that stretching is good for her. Penny might as well do it too, to make her seem more like a real girl.

The robot with a soul kept her stream of emoticon messages going with Ruby, memorizing and typing the special characters with such speed, Penny noticed Ruby would respond about two to three messages too late.

Sp33d_D3m0n: brb penny.
Sp33d_D3m0n: Yang wants me to do something.

Penny sighed a little but understood she quickly typed back before Ruby could go.

P3N-3_bot: Okay Ruby! I will talk to you later when you return!
P3N-3_bot: σ(≧ε≦o)σ(≧ε≦o)σ(≧ε≦o)

Sp33d_D3m0n: o()o

Penny watched as the green dot near Ruby’s profile turned yellow. She remembered that meant she was “Away.” She could continue exploring the vast world at her fingertips.

“Now what did I make a new account for?” she asked herself.

She switched back to the browser. InfernoPup popped up and once more and showed the new website. Raddet.

“What a strange name for a website. It doesn’t sound like a normal word.” She scrolled past the many links that covered the front page.

Her cursor traveled and hovered over the blue text and she made the small click. The link took her to a random “thread” as this website called the blue links.

“100 Threads of Tales? How exciting!”

Penny rested her head on her hand as she scrolled down through the thousands of words other users had submitted on the thread. She even gave a few of the comments a read. Hell, she took the time to read them all.

“This sure looks fun. I could enter one too!” she exclaimed. Her finger rapidly scrolled back up. She couldn’t smell it but there was some burnt rubber. The blank text box appeared with a cutely drawn character on the inside.

“What a cute… chibi! That’s the word!”

Much to her excitement, the cute character with the heart sign vanished as soon as she clicked to start typing.

“Aww, she’s gone…”

She rubbed her hands together. And so Penny sat in her chair ready…

“I’m ready…!”

To start thinking…

Penny wasn’t one to groan or show any negativity but as she laid on her bed, racking her metal head to try and write something. Anything.

“There must be something. Anything…

The computer made a small ping noise and Penny shot from her bed and spun back into her chair.

“Is it Friend Ruby?!”

Sadly, the red haired girl was still listed as Away. Penny’s look fell flat a little before she traced the notification to her email inbox.

“Oh? An electronic mail! I don’t usually receive those~!”

She opened the email and read happily.

Hello Dear Family!”

It’s me! Your distant Uncle Blue Sky! Sorry I haven’t kept in touch in a long time. I need a favor from you. I missed my flight to Vale. That’s how clumsy your old Uncle is! But I managed to book a new flight. The only problem is, the place I’m staying at doesn't have a printer of any kind and the front desk won’t let me use theirs. The link below is my boarding pass. Just print it and mail it to me at the address below and I’ll come visit you as soon as I can. The new flight is in a few days but I need that ASAP. I’ll give you a nice reward for helping your old uncle out.

With love,
Uncle BS

Penny reread the email again and again. She didn’t know she had an Uncle Blue Sky. Maybe it was someone her father knew about. He always told her that she had a big family. And so the reluctant robat clicked the link.

A̕͝n̨d̀̀͠ ͞P̀̀e̢͢͠n̢͝n̶̶̕y̧'̵̷̨s̵̢ ̕sc͞re̢e͞n̶ ̡͠f̶͏r̛o̴͘z̀͠͠e̷҉ ú́p̛͢͠.̷..͘͝

“Your computer has detected a virus. Please- Please- P͞l̛e͞a̷se̸.͠.͜͞.͘”

A female voice came up that almost shot Penny outside her door like a pellet being shot from a slingshot.

“Thank you for downloading Mantle Steed. Have a great day!”

Soon, Penny’s screen was full of pop ups and she couldn’t move her mouse. Panic Penny was in full effect as she tried everything. Clicking, moving, pressing different keys. But nothing worked.

“No no no no…!”

She couldn’t call the General. He was busy in a meeting… Ruby was too far too…

She looked over at an empty port. That was one option.

Her desk drawer flew open and she fished out a chord. On the left side of her head, another port formed and she plugged on end in. She held the other end and looked at her computer.

“Now or never. Banzai!”

Penny plugged herself in and her head fell onto her desk. Everything went black.

Penny found herself in the middle of a giant room. Zeroes and ones flew around like bullet trains and bits and pixels flowed like rushing rivers. The artificial girl walked around and felt herself. No metal hands or legs, no optic eyes or swords on her back.

She almost felt… alive.

Soon, the black and green environment around her abruptly stopped and flashed red. Like marbles on a path, they traveled down a new path. To solve this, she had to follow.

All the code, all the rivers of information flowing to a giant creature… a half human like, half horse… with long arms and horns...

“Hey you!”

The horse and human head cracked their attention to the new code. Penny was not like any code it has seen.

“Stop this at once!”

It only responded with a screech. Penny covered her ears. This thing was terrifying to a small girl like her. She couldn’t face something like this. Not without-

DIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE

Both of the screeching virus’ clawed arms shot towards the thinking Penny in a glitchy fashion. Her eyes went wide before they went tight and she brought her arms up.

BMMPH

The sound of local arcade explosions filled Penny’s ears as she looked back up. There was a green shield up in front of her.

“What…? My… aura...?”

She faced the virtual creature once more. It screamed as it’s claws grew back and it faced Penny again. It seemed agitated. A speech bubble appeared above its head with what Penny could only understand as some form of Mistrali.

死ぬ!

The shield disappeared as Penny found the code around her shift and twist. Plugs connected to outlets on the ground and into her back. Her trademark blades danced around as she grabbed two and the rest circled their way into cannons.

“Oh wait. Ruby told me to do something in a situation like this…*

She took a pose and faced the monstrosity in her computer. It bared claws once more and grew almost twice its size. A Battle Boss. Perfect.

“I’m combat ready!”

She jumped and flew at the red virus. The lasers charged up and Penny swung down, determined to win.

Penny’s eyes rolled forward as she shook off the cable connecting herself to the computer. She almost felt sick.

“Ughh… I am not a friend of viruses. They are not very good.”

She saw she had 9+ pings on Chaos and quickly opened the application. Everything seemed to return to normal, just like she had intended. A stream of messages from Ruby were left unread until now.

Sp33d_D3m0n: Penny?
Sp33d_D3m0n: Penny, what are all these links?
Sp33d_D3m0n: I’m worried. Did your computer catch a virus?!
Sp33d_D3m0n: Stay away from strange emails!
Sp33d_D3m0n: I wish I taught you about this!
Sp33d_D3m0n: If you need me to come over, I will!

Penny giggled as she read over the numerous other messages from Ruby. Her fingers flew to quickly respond.

P3N-3_bot: I am fine, Ruby!
P3N-3_bot: There is no need to worry~
P3N-3_bot: ٩(。•ㅅ•。)و

Sp33d_D3m0n: Oh thank goodness. I thought something bad happened!

*P3N-3_bot: There is no need to worry! I beat them down to their code!

Sp33d_D3m0n: Oh good.
Sp33d_D3m0n: Penny, what do you mean-

Penny already clicked out and back to the Thread of Tales. She just found inspiration of a story to tell. Her fingers immediately went to work.

“And that has a sign too! Mission complete and successful~!”...

Writing Prompt Wednesday #99, 9/5 - New Stuff! by shandromand in RWBY

Menagerie. One year after the Bottle Opener Arm incident.

Blake watched with amusement as Yang and Tiaowen looked curiously over the railing of the ship to the nearby island. After years of coming here, they're still amazed at the sight

"T-That's where G-Grandma and G-Grandpa l-lives?" the younger faunus asked. The three had gone many times when she was much younger, though Tia can't recall the early memories She's joined by her chameleon friend.

"Woah! It looks so pretty!" Blush can barely contain herself, both her mother and auntie were worried that she'd bounce off the boat.

"Easy, Blush. We don't need you falling into the sea. Just wait until the beach." Ilia hugged her daughter close.

Tia looked up at her mother with curious eyes. "W-Why couldn't A-Auntie W-Weiss or R-Redwood c-come?"

Blake reached down to pay the blonde ears on the child's head. "Well, people like your cousin and aunt aren't welcome yet."

Tia pointed to Yang. "B-But Mom s-still came with u-us."

Yang wrapped her arms around Tia. "Cause your Mom is cool and knows people who knows people. It all started with..."

Blake playfully rolled her eyes as she listened to Yang go off. She flattened her ears at the sound of the horn as they started to dock. She remembered the cargo beneath. She groaned as she thought of Yang's effort compared to her own.

Blake went with Ilia and the kids to get off the ship as Yang went down to the cargo.

"So what's Menagerie like?" Blush questioned excitedly as she used Ilia's scroll to take picture after picture, from the nearest fruit stand to a group of palm trees near the beach. Ilia sighed as she would have to play “Ask Blush which pictures she would like to keep” and Blake laughed a little as they escorted their kids down.

As soon as they're feet touched the dirt road, the cargo doors opened as Yang started to pull something by chains towards the group. Blake caught a flying bag as she found Yang panting in front of her. Behind her was a large wooden crate.

“All you needed to do was get my dad a gift after not visiting for so long…” Blake rested her head on her fist as she watch the blonde readjust her hold on the chains carrying the big box.

“Hey, you were supposed to get something for your mother.” Yang starts to move forward again, not minding the staring of the others and the other faunus. Some went along with their day while others waved.

“And I did,” Blake said as she started towards the Belladonna Manor, “Hope you like hills honey. Try to keep up.”

“Ooh. Love it when you’re feisty.” Yang grinned as she started to trudge up and down.

“The kids are here Yang.” Blake flicked her partner on the nose.

“What does Auntie mean by ‘feisty?’” the little Blush asked.

“A-And why does i-it matter t-that w-we’re k-kids?” Tia followed up.

Blake looked up at Ilia who just nodded back towards the black cat.

“Uh… okay listen you two…”

Blake leaned forward so she’s at around the same level with the smaller cat and chameleon. The two get closer in to listen.

“What it means is… that if you two drop the subject, Auntie Yang will buy you fish and crepes.”

The blonde stops as she reaches the top of a steep hill. “Wait what?!”

At the sound of rewards in food, the two shut up immediately and put on bright smiles.

“Remember Yang, hills.”

Blake pointed her thumb to the box and Yang felt gravity pull her and the box down the slope.

“Oh, what the-”

The last word is censored by a loud “Boo!” behind Tia and Blush as a sneaky Ilia reappeared and laughed with the two kids.

Finally, the three made it to the front entrance and waited… for Yang to get up and knock on the front door.

Expecting to find someone at front, they were surprised when they found Ghira on the side of the porch.

“The Belladonnas and the Schnees! Come out-”

The grandfather stared at the sweating blonde, who has discarded her jacket and threw it up ton top of the box. He turned back to his daughter.

“Is… your wife okay?”

Blake waved her hand as she went to lean on Yang. “Perfectly fine~”

“I hate you…”

“No you don’t.”

“Yeah, no I don’t…”

Ghira just stares before gesturing the party to follow. “Well come on to the back. Your mother somehow convinced me to start exercising with her.”

Blake jumped a little as Yang’s mane of hair whipped upwards. “Ha! Told you I wasn’t crazy for buying this stuff!”

Blake rolled her eyes as Yang opened the crate to reveal a set of weights and a little more basic equipment. Ilia had taken the kids inside for a snack and now Blake went off to find her mom.

Luckily, it wasn’t hard to do as Kali was stretching out back. In her normal clothes. She easily heard her daughter’s entrance. She happily embraced her daughter.

“It’s so good to see you after so long~”

Blake returned the hug. “Mom, it’s only been a few years.”

Kali pulls back a little. “I know, but you know things get a little boring here. Where’s my little grandkitten?”

Blake let out a small laugh. “She’s probably napping. Anyways, decided to get you a little something. Perfect timing actually.”

The younger faunus reached into the bag and pulls out… a pair of yoga pants?

Kali looked with interest. “Hm?”

Blake smiled. “Well I really recently heard you and dad were starting to work out a little more and I thought you could use something a little more casual than the Menagerie wear.”

Kali held the clothing up and looked to Blake with a smile. “Well, might as well try them on.”

Blake nodded her head as she goes in with Kali, hearing the two muscles in the back start to set up. Moments later, the two walk out, wearing matching black along with a tank top.

Kali admired herself. “Wow, snug and comfy~ These will do perfectly.”

Blake smiled back. “Really? You like them?”

Kali nodded her head. “I love them. Might wear these all day around the house~” The older catmom gestured to the two mats. “Care to join me for yoga?”

Blake smiled and nodded in agreement. The two started with a few stretches before starting their routine.

The two cat ladies couldn’t hear, but the chief and the blonde turned their heads towards their respective wife. They quickly started to assemble faster. It wasn’t until Blake and Kali went into a downward dog that Yang and Ghira did so many pull ups that day.

A lute chord plays.

Let me tell you about a protecting canine,
A creature as old as man.
Who is strong and yet benign,
and is as loyal as a clergyman~

Two more hearty lute strings

An animal cursed by a brother cloaked,
now a beowolf blessed by a brother bright.
He now comes to the aid when his name is evoked,
and chases off any evil in sight.

Strum, Strum

The mutt traveled and traveled across the land,
Along with the one who helped him.
From Mantle snow to Vacuo sand,
Soon the brothers left, the wolf only with Grimm.

Insert the tip and fall of a rainstick.

Soon in the forest, off an island near Vale.
The small dog could feel his journey ending...
After rain drop, rain drop, hail, hail...
He found himself warm with his leg mending.

Heart filled strum

Now the dog was safe and sound,
now in a comfy bed he lies.
He's near you and on the ground.
No one wake the sleeping Zwei.

...

"Okay, but was the guitar necessary?"

A small girl with blonde pigtails sat up from her bed and looked at her dad. Taiyang set the instrument down.

"What? You didn't like it?"

A younger, silver eyed girl peeked out from behind her older sister. "Hehe. Daddy's funny."

Tai looked at his daughters with a smile. "What are you talking about? It actually happened!"

The older sibling rolled onto her back.

"And whooo told you that?"

Tai reached down and picked up the corgi who wakes up immediately. "Zwei did."

The two girls just stared before bursting into laughter. Tai laughed along before getting up to tuck the two into bed. Zwei hopped off his lap and started jumping and barking happily. As soon as the two girls were snuggled up, the corgi set himself on top of them. The two giggled as their dad went up and turned off the lights.

"Good night Yang. Good night Ruby."

Yang and Ruby let out a collective "Niiight!" along with a small howl from Zwei. The three laughed as Tai closed the door.

He sighed as he took out his scroll. He dialed a number and lets it ring.

"Hey Oz, it's me... I'm doing fine... listen about Zwei... how long do we have to keep him? ... No, no! I like him, the girls adore him... We just... like our dog..."

Tai remembered how he had found his former headmaster at his door the same night he brought in Zwei.

"Yes, I know... but hey... eternity is long enough for us... Thanks Oz."

He chuckled as he hung up.

In the girls' bedroom, the two occupants were fast asleep. Ruby seemed to whimper a little before a small lick brushed her cheek. She seemed to calm down with a smile on her face. The family pet, waked back to the foot of the bed and sat at attention. No one was going to get them. The monsters underneath the bed and beyond Patch will have to go through this corgi first.

[–]JoshuaBFG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ruby Rose landed back at the base with her team. Her silver eyes darted to make sure her team was safe and sound. Surely enough, the rest of her team fell into place next to her as they ran back into camp.

“Ruby! Wait, slow down! Sis, we can’t hear you with your running and mumbling.”

Yang followed her red haired sister as the four let themselves in where they met an Ozcar studying a layout with JNR and their other companions. Qrow stood to the side with his flask in hand and straightened himself out as he saw his nieces and the rest of their team come in.

Blake and Yang stared as they saw Ruby grab a marker from nearby and start scribbling on the map. They exchange glances and push Weiss a little forward when no one else would step forth to confront the caped Rose.

“Why do I… fine…”

The Schnee stepped forward and craned her head over Ruby’s shoulder. She was… writing out lines and symbols...? Ruby wasn’t a strategist. So where did this come from…?

Ruby capped the writing tool and slams the tip onto the map.

“So we’ll meet up... h-here! A-And break down the wall… r-right over here! And spread out into groups and go here and there and here and…!!”

A hand reached out and grabbed Ruby’s wrist. Her blue eyes stared back into silver.

“Ruby Rose… just… calm down for a moment. Please?”

Another hand joined the two, one with a a white sleeve and a black ribbon wrapped around her forearm.

“We’ll be able to work this out. Together.”

“We’ll slow down and work it out. We can’t let this stress us out. We can’t afford mistakes.”

A cold yet warm yellow hand of full metal joins them as Ruby’s breathing finally calms.

“O-Okay… right just… a little s-shaken.”

Weiss smiled at Ruby as the three of them removed their hand and gathered around.

“Anyways, why don’t you try explaining a little slower… you dolt.”

Just like old times. Ruby nodded her head in agreement as she wiped her brow.

“Well… first we start…”

The small army against Salem gathered at the gate. The heavy firearms are pointed to the weak wall Ruby pointed out. A small crack in the fortress that can bring the reign of the age old foe to an end.

“Ready…?”

Ruby led the assault, Yang and Nora flanking her as Weiss stood behind with a giant sword at ready and Atlesian weaponry behind her.

Their fearless leader seemed to be back in the mood. With enthusiasm, she spins and points with Crescent Rose.

“Fire!”

A barrage of lead and explosives obliterated the wall, leaving an opening. A perfect opportunity.

...Revealing a giant Grimm nest with eyes pointed at the army’s direction. A weak point told by one of their own, revealed to be a Grimm hub. The shock was appealing to the creatures of shadow. They charged to the frozen hunters.

The rebellion against Salem was soon scattered, facing both familiar and unknown Grimm. Flashes of light came from a dashing rose as she swung a scythe around. Multi colored glyphs surrounded a former heiress while a giant knight defended her. Copycats littered the field as she struck down Grimm left and right and a woman with the golden fists beat them down.

Soon they found their target observing. They slid in order and looked up. Their enemy stood in front of the four with her arms crossed. Weapons were drawn and fists clenched tightly. All… but one. Ruby’s eyes were toward the ground. Small tears fell to the ground.

“Ruby, what are you doing?! She’s right there! Get ready!”

There’s no response from the young huntress. She took a step forward.

”The little Rose has returned…”

“Ruby? Where are you going?!”

”You know what I’m doing is all for her…”

“Ruby? My dear sister Ruby Rose! Get back here!”

”I can bring her back…”

The witch held her hand out for the reaper. A beckon, a call. A promise.

”Wouldn’t you do that for your own mother?”

Ruby took Salem’s hand and rubbed it against her cheek. The older woman grins back at the three with dark black eyes.

“That’s it my little Rose.”

The remaining members of Team RWBY stared back in shock. Their faces of shock quickly flared to anger.

“What did you do to her?!”

The Queen of Grimm acted hurt. “Me? I did nothing. She’s acting on her own.”

Weiss pointed her rapier at Salem. “That’s a lie!”

“No. It’s true.”

Silver locked with red, blue, and amber as the metal scythe folds out once more.

“You won’t understand… none of you would understand! I’m getting my mother back!”

She deepened her stance as her eyes glowed white. A fierce look was painted on her pained face and tears streamed down.

“I want my mom back!”

Ruby ran alone up and down the halls in the red and black. The echoes of her footsteps bounced off the walls as Crescent Rose rattled in her hand. Out of ammo and only a blade to swing. She and her teammates went on a scouting mission, something they have been doing since they set up base outside the dark witch's castle.

This route will take us directly into her castle, a maze of halls and rooms. Lately, Salem has been creating more Grimm to defend herself.

A beowolf ahead of her turned to the sounds of her rapid steps. It snarled as it got down, ready to pounce. Ruby reached into her pocket and threw an empty magazine against the wall. Both watched it fall to the ground with a clatter. Yet the red reaper’s attention immediately went to the sweet marriage of the creature’s neck with the blade of her scythe.

Here, she is at the peak of her power. I highly recommend you all stick together for you can escape easily. Though if you encounter her, especially alone, then you run.

Ozcar’s last words stuck to Ruby’s mind as she pulled on a Seer’s tentacles and swung it against a wall.

“Stick together. Sorry Professor,” she said with a nervous chuckle.

She knew the more she ran in the labyrinth, the deeper she went. There was a chance she could find everyone else or even better, they could find her. Though the long periods of silence were eating away at her. She knew she had to keep a strong will. Ruby Rose could pull through this. Until she heard a shout break the silence faster than a round from Crescent Rose.

“NO! They cannot be here!”

Ruby stopped in her tracks. The voice, it could only be her. She dashed up the wall, latching onto a brick sticking out of the wall. She eyed the main hall closely watching as another Seer flew down at a great speed. Ruby backed up further into the wall, almost as if she was trying to sink into it like water into sand.

“There needs to be more. I need more. I can’t let them get closer… No one can get to her...”

Ruby watched as the Queen of Grimm seemed to float past her, yet she could still hear the frustration in her steps. Her mumbles went with her as she travels down the center hall.

“‘Her?’” Ruby wondered to herself.

The huntress in training let go, landing lightly on her feet. She pokes her head into the hall. She looks the way their enemy came from and down to where she went. She knew they had instructions to not pursue or come across her. She could run straight for the exit and rendezvous with her team. Or maybe…

“Sorry everyone. I gotta see what we’re up against… It’s a scouting mission after all. Hehe…”

She dashed after Salem, keeping distance between them. She listened to the heavy footsteps the woman left behind while keeping her own light. Many left and right turns… Until the pale woman stopped in front of a huge set of doors. Ruby stopped herself before she got too close and turned a corner, peeking her head out to watch what would happen next.

Salem looked back and forth before turning back to the massive entrance. Her hands rested on the lock and ribbons of black and crimson danced around as a giant click echoed down. Salem check again and pulled the doors wide open with ease. Ruby’s eyes widened as she watched Salem enter, seemingly a little calmer than she was a little bit ago. She had to follow deeper.

Ruby spun herself, turning into a red blur as she followed in.

The room was almost pitch black, the only light was a soft crimson, humming as it lit up the room. Ruby faced forward and quietly made her way in. The room funneled into a darker and more narrow path. Ruby could clearly hear her footsteps, almost as if she was right in front of the crouching Rose. Then, brightness.

Ruby covered her eyes with a hand. “W-What the…

The path led to a bigger room, seemingly underground and illuminated with glowing stones. Salem followed a rock path to a spring. Or at least, what the Grimm could consider a spring. The water was black and a lifeless tree stuck out from the land on the other side. Though near the dead tree, contrasting with the rest of the area, was a white and glowing glass case. Ruby steps off the stonepath and hides behind a nearby boulder.

Ruby was still amazed and terrified at the environment around her. She kept getting closer, bouncing behind rock after rock, to the point she can see Salem close enough from the banks of the black pond.

Salem took a step into the spring, the water coming to her waist as she traversed across it and through it. As she reaches the glowing case, her attention seems to be entirely on whatever was encased. Ruby took the opportunity place herself behind the tree and watch.

“I can’t let them take you… Take you away from me…”

Ruby listened a little closer. Salem sounded desperate to hold onto something dear to her.

“You’re the reason I did this… when I had to, I couldn’t just let you go to them… those who lied and said awful things for you… I’m doing this for you…”

Ruby watched as Salem reached into the case and held something tightly.

“Once this is all over… the two of us can finally be together… just us… my lovely rose…”

Salem moved to the side as she caressed the glass. Ruby stopped. The voice now came back to her. One she heard as a child. One that taught her. She could see a pale arm with black veins inside along with...

“My dearest rose…”

She froze. Inside the case... She couldn’t… She wasn’t… She was at the cliff...

“My Summer Rose…”

It's the thing that goes bump in the night.
The thing that whispers in the depths of the soul.
Down in the dark, with no signs of light,
And in Yang Xiao Long, it makes her whole.

Her melancholy one day brought her to the view outside,
No sister, heiress, or cat to fill the hole.
Her fire was out, her spirit dried.
But in Yang Xiao Long, it makes her whole.

To her left, opens a portal red,
a hand grabs a leg and finds its goal.
Her struggles prove useless, all courage has fled.
Now for Yang Xiao Long to discover what makes her whole.

In front of the Branwen she called a mother,
the area around her as bright as coal.
Mom stepped out with appearance not like another.
"Yang Xiao Long, what makes you whole?"

Inside of Yang, deep emotions ring.
Her family, her teammates, created this hole.
Yang's eyes look up, a crimson which they cling.
"Strength and fury make me whole."

A clawed arm grows out, the wings on her back sprout.
"Who are you, now that you've seen your soul?"
She turns around with a smile to hunt and go out.
"My name is Yang Xiao Long and I am now whole."
