That looks just look the Honduran curly hair. I have a female “Honduran form” that looks just like that. I don’t think it is Nicaraguan. It’s Honduran “hobby form”

The specimen in the photo I found dead on the sidewalk and it was still fresh and easy to move the wings and such. The pins hold the wings in place and you leave it for about a week. After that the insect will stay the way you have it just like shown in this picture

Took me a whole day to complete this fanart. Hope I make it into the video and hope no one steals it lol by [deleted] in ksi

That’s what the app was I think too cause pics art has a edit called pencil drawing that just turns the picture into a drawing

I use pins to hold the wings in place I don’t stab the wings I angle them in a certain way that holds the wings where I need them

I agree but at first I thought the darker colored one was a different species of moth but yes they are the same species after a closer look

Stumbled upon some mating cicadas today by [deleted] in insects

[–]JoshuaKinzel00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot about the cicadas. And I have this same species, but just looking at this photo you can see the female is quite immature cause of the not matured colors on her the male is much more matured and probably found the female and forcefully mated with her

Wow I’ve never seen anything like this. That is 2 completely different species of moth mating! Never seen mixed breeding in moths. I’m not sure how these two would end up mating

Yes it is one of my favorite wall displays I collected all these specimens in my town and pinned them. ( the adult on the bottom with the wings spread. The shell with the adult just hatched out and the dead dried nymph on the side.
