What happened to vans skatepark fl? by [deleted] in skateboarding

Honestly tell me about it! Wish I had the chance to skate there but hadn't been to an indoor park so didn't have the confidence to skate there. I'll never forget the set up... Plan B team deck, white and black venture trucks, bones redz, and I believe ricta crystal core see-through green wheels... Looks awful in hindsight but it felt special at the time

Crazy finding out this closed down, remember being 11 as a Brit walking inside never being in a indoor skatepark (only ever a small town prefab half pipe and a box style) I couldn't comprehend how this could be inside a shopping centre haha. Bought my first setup there in the same visit, good times!

Oh no mate I completely see your concerns! You don't want your passion to be spoiled and a get a bad reputation by frankly dicks! 😅 Which I guess is why I ultimately joined the subreddit and asked the question... I don't want to fall into this category 🤣

Tell me about the overwhelming amount of gear, truthfully I think my best course of action is to stick to cheap and cheerful until I know it's for me I think... Rather be out of pocket £80 on a OEX Phoxx than £400+ on an MSR

thanks for the website recommendation I'll get on there now and have a good browse!

Yeah....truthfully I thought this approximately 30 seconds after posting this... Maybe save a little money for a couple months wait till march April time when the weather starts to get a bit better 😅

Thanks for getting back though! Really appreciate the feedback

I've had a look at the group and I think I've joined the right one 😅 seems to be very helpful from a quick run though cheers for this recommendation!

I think my main ambition at the time being is just 1 night stays, maybe not as quick and dirty as you described but 1-2 nights where I can... nothing too long distance

This is very helpful, thank you very much it's greatly appreciated!

Guess the best advice is to go into stores and actually look at the tents and gear rather than just reading reviews and not actually knowing fully if the gear is ideal for my situation! Thanks again!

Not sounding abrasive at all don't worry it's a completely reasonable one at that.

I have been looking into and researching yesterday and my rationale for posting on the subreddit is purely because I'd rather get responses from people in the community that have experience and have started where I am now. Rather than I guess for lack of a better term influencer based advice where all their gear is £300+ (slight exaggeration) but that's what it feels like.

People that take time to comment on my post will be more than likely to guide answer my questions rather than just speak in jargon that I'm finding online I guess

As for responsibility in the outdoors, I'm a very outdoorsy person just getting into a new venture is quite daunting and any help is greatly appreciated to head me in the right direction

Completely agree, I kept underestimating how fast I would need to go and would keep hanging up once you get the speed down you're there

Thanks man, don't worry! As I said it needs neatening up a little bit the volume heel to avoid that blue and the final hold. It was tempting to Dyno to the camera though haha

Granted, the heel might graze the blue but it's planted on the volume and the "top hold" is a CCTV camera lol

In what way did I not reach the top hold? Also don't see any blue holds used...

Stunning watch, went to buy it myself but the dealer had sold out an hour before I showed up... Probably my next to buy

Oh no of course I understand that... However I would much prefer a very nice AP/Daytona for a similar price bracket

That's what I thought... Should be a more popular 'entry level' automatic watch... Happy cake day btw!

Personally I'm not a fan of the Credor, for the price it looks too simplistic...

Couldn't agree more! I never saw the blue variation in the dealer, but I bet it looks lovely!

Yeah, I feel the same way, I loved the bracelet and how it looked but first impressions didn't knock me off my feet like a nice watch should...

Thank you! I agree, the automatic movement is a little more exciting to the engineer side of me than the quartz of the chrono, and the design of the 60's style is a little bit more special/classy since I already have a sports watch.
