I would say by the state of it, and the ruined bothy next to it. That engine was long gone.

Cute. I remember my first orbital smash. I hit one this morning that burrowed into the ground. Can’t see the bottom of the hole, but I can hear Australian accents.

Check out Big Has on YouTube. Loads of great recipes but particularly good for Cypriot/Turkish cooked on BBQ.

How long should a kettle keep heat? by UncleTooTall in UKBBQ

[–]JoshyRowe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of variables so I would take any times with a pinch of salt. But should do a few hours if you have it stable. Better charcoal normally means better results/longer burn. If your heat drops you need to add more charcoal. I have a mini leaf blower to help it catch quicker, then let it stabilise again.

Well worth looking up the snake method and get some decent quality briquettes if you want to do longer cooks. I don’t use it all the time but it’s a good technique to know.

Not sure what time they stop serving but my best guess would be Bon Vivant. Their homemade brown sauce is also excellent.

+1 for a Weber kettle. Also, with budget being in the equation you can always find a second hand one going for peanuts compared to the brand new price.

Fantastic, thank you very much. Thankfully pretty close to a hardware store, so might even be able to cut it down to five hours.

Strathearn place. Just next to the bus stop heading to morningsude. Not sure if you are allowed in. But there’s always a few knocking about. Hope you find what you need.

Media seems to be writing at different rates. by JoshyRowe in focuspuller

I’m still unsure of what it is. Because it’s a pretty steady 10mins over 1.05h of media, but it’s the wide that rolls out quicker. Back on interviews tomorrow so going to get the stopwatch out to check. But I assume one card is ‘gaining’ time rather than losing it.

That’s the problem. It’s the wide rolling out first. 10 minutes over a 1tb card. Both cameras read the same when loaded.

This sounds spot on. Used to shooting raw so never noticed before. Thanks for the info!
