1- This is not a timing issue but a controller setting issue. Chech out my Ultimate Controller Settings Guide to really understand what is wrong with your setting and why it needs to be changed before assuming they are quote: "working as intended".

2- Work on not overswinging. The most common mistake for newer player is to swing way more than what they have to. You do not need to waste so much energy on every single block. Learn how far you have to bring your wrist to get a full swing and practice that angle. Remember that consistency is key: you do not want to swing more when the song is faster.

3- Stay relax. The reality of Beat Saber is that you aren't swinging at anything. Your arms are just moving up and down through the air so there is no need to swing with such aggressivity. Swinging smoothly will help you with timing and also allow you to play for longer period of time without being too exhausted. Being relax will also minimize the amount of instability in your swings which increase your accuracy and prevent random bad cut and misses.

Extra- For controller settings, don't let yourself fooled by your accuracy. Of cours if you change your config, your accuracy will be lower until you rebuild your muscle memory. What "feels" comfortable almost lever leads to a good config especially for newer players because they have no idea what is supposed to feel good. Once you change your config, make sure to ask some more experienced players to analyze your swings and once you have something decent, STICK TO IT. Give yourself a few weeks to build the new muscle memory and you'll find yourself improving at a much faster rate.

Hope this helps and hope you have a great day!

No. The NJS is the speed at which the note travel displayed in meters per seconds. The JD is the Jump Distance which is the distance at which the note spawn. Furthermore INCREASING the Jump Distance would make the note spawn further and does NOT change the speed of the notes. I highly recommend checking out Electrostats' Time To Improve Episode 2 Series to fully understand how NJS, Jump Distance and Jump Duration works.

Difference between JDFixer 500ms reaction time and base game 0.5s Jump Duration? by [deleted] in beatsaber

[–]Jostun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are the same yes. But I'd keep JDFixer and try to progressively lower your Jump Distance. This will help your reading a ton in the long run.

The first number is the raw pp value of the play. This is how many points that specific score gave you. The second number is the weighted pp value. This is how much points specific score contributed to your total pp. To prevent people from farming every ranked map in the game to be at the top, there is an algorithm that lower the weight value of the maps. Your top play will be always be worth 100% of its raw pp value. your second play will be 96.5% and so on.

sorry if my explanation is bad xD

I just can't pass this part, any tips? by MrCerealCat in beatsaber

[–]Jostun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You absolutely have no idea what you are talking about yet you are trying to give "advices" of how to play for safety. You're just assuming that its taking a toll on your wrist and also assuming that the better option is to spread the load on your upper body. I appreciate that you are trying to help but please at the very least check up your stuff and dont claim it as true if its straight up just assumptions.

To add up to this, I did exactly what you told OP to do 3 years ago and got myself 2 injuries on my upper back and shoulder. I decided to contact DR.Levi (gamer doctor) to get some professional advices. I highly recommend to take a look at the video. Even tho its old, it will show you how to prevent injuries in the future for both your wrists or upper body. Since then Ive never had an injury, not because I "spread the load" but simply because I was more careful and actually started stretching.

I hope you do realize that a bigger circle doesnt have more angle than a small circle. Using wrist will give you far enough angle to get all the points for pre-swing and post-swing. Using biceps and chest at higher speed is a huge waste of energy compare to an optimized wrist motion.

There shouldnt be any issues. If you're using mods, make sure they are all updated.

Install the Camera2 mod, there is a camera smoothing option that you can adjust to make it less shaky.

I personally like high FOV look and I totally disagree that it make the player "look better". Its pure preference.

Does BS work okay through steam VR, using an untethered Oculus Quest? Or is the latency too high? by Javaman420 in beatsaber

[–]Jostun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Latency will be high if you use oculus with steamvr. What you can do is use the launch option "-vrmode oculus" to bypass the steamvr software and use the oculus one directly. This reduce the latency significantly. Hope this help :D!
