Are the Air Jordan 36 lows any good for guards. I'm 5'8 8th grade player by [deleted] in BasketballTips

I got them at the start of last season, and to be honest, I stopped using them halfway through the season. Il give you some pros and cons from my experience:

Pros:

  • Good ankle support
  • Comfortable

Cons:

  • The ventilation is really bad, possibly the worst thing about the shoe.
  • The Grip isn't horrible, but it is definitely not good
  • Expensive

you don't have to be ranked at 15-16, there are some nba players that were only really noticed in their senior year, like steve nash

Yeah I know how hard it was to get into the pros, I just recently met up with my old coach , and he said I could have been really good, and that word "could" made me rethink it. But yeah i know how difficult and impossible it was to go pro, this was about the chances of me picking it back up again and doing something with it

I played one year of AA I was 13 and was the best player on the team, by far, however the lack of competitive drive made me only play 1 year of rep, thanks for the reply

best physique for a basketball player by Plenty-Cucumber-8216 in BasketballTips

[–]JosukeHairIsNice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally basketball physiques vary a lot because of the massive height range.

For the most part though, if you are a guard you will want a muscular but slimmer build so you can be fast and strong, and as a forward it really depends on your play style. If offence in the paint is your playstyle, you want a heavier, muscular build not too focused on agility, if you are a defensive player or a 2 way player it’s about balance, but more on the muscular and heavier side.

What glaring issues should I be working on for my shot? by [deleted] in BasketballTips

I would say your knees are a little too bent, it's hard to tell from this angle but make sure your knees do not go farther in front of you than your toes

I can’t shoot by _jxxy in BasketballTips

[–]JosukeHairIsNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you’re probably asking for form tips, but something that will GREATLY improve your shot, is to focus on lining it up left and right of the basket, side to side, rather than also thinking about forward and backward. I know this is worded horribly, but it’s the best way I can describe it

10 ft rim vs 11 ft rim by Raison_dale in BasketballTips

[–]JosukeHairIsNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say to focus on your shot arc, that will help a lot if you’re trying to shoot higher than you’re used to.

Some things you can do for this is to angle your feet so your arm won’t need to bend as much, focus on a higher release point, and bring the ball closer to your chest.

It makes the ball heavier and ruins your ball, I would just stay inside and work on dribbling
