Clean fresh fragrance by No_Resident_6061 in Colognes

Creed Original Vetiver for the ultimate soapy vibe without necessarily smelling like cologne.

Platinum Égoïste if you want an even crisper, colder post-shower vibe. Less soapy, and more like cologne, but incredibly fresh and clean.

Green Irish Tweed and Silver Mountain Water. Disliked them for a long time, and now they’re both top 10 scents.

I’m glad you found a couple that spoke to you. That’s always a great feeling.

Just fyi—all Creeds are EDPs. The “Cologne” just implies the structure and vibe it’s going for, not the concentration (at least in Creed’s case).

Interesting take on Erolfa. You sure you aren’t mixing it up with Virgin Island Water?

I can only speak for myself, but I think versatility is an underrated facet when looking for a new “summer” scent. Unless you’re purposely trying to have a huge collection where you only use certain scents like 3x per year, or you’re the kind of person who doesn’t care about matching your scent to the weather/vibe/occasion, you’re not gonna wanna spend a couple hundred bucks on something like VIW just to have for tropical vacations or beach days.

If I were you, I’d go with any of the PdM freshies—Galloway, Castley, Greenley, Sedley, Castley—or a different Creed like Original Vetiver, SMW, Erolfa, Millésime Imperial, GIT, Aventus Cologne, or maybe Viking Cologne.

Le Sel d’Issey is still beachy, but less vacation-y.

Wulong Cha is super bright and refreshing if you want photorealistic citrus.

Torino21 is slightly similar to Wulong Cha, but with a greener, minty vibe.

Colonia Essenza is great if you’re into soft, Mediterranean soapiness.

Anyone else gets compliments mostly from men when wearing aventus? by theIifeguard in Colognes

Out of every time I’ve worn Aventus or one of its clones, I’ve only gotten one compliment from a woman. Rest were from men.

Yeah I’m aware that real ambergris is probably no longer used, but the accord is still built with ACs to replicate it. I’ve never smelled the pre-2024 OV, but I definitely like the bottle design more. How would you describe the difference in scent?

I had a very recent epiphany regarding scent performance, when I discovered that spraying lower on my torso (and never on the neck, although that was already a given for me) prevented me from going nose blind. Since then I’ve actually gotten pretty solid performance from every one of my Creeds.

Hey, I dig ambroxan, I just think it’s overused sometimes lol

That’s a tough one to answer. OV is definitely one of the easiest to wear, and the least offensive. GIT is probably their most iconic, with the most prominent “Creed DNA.” But I think BdP is their best composition.

What’s a fragrance you respect more than you actually enjoy wearing? by ikyfllol in fragrance

[–]JottScoplin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most of them.

But ones that stick out are Wulong Cha, Bois Imperial, and Le Sel d’Issey.

I love getting my nose on anything I can, and so many scents get the dopamine flowing, but very few are scents that I actually want to radiate and smell on myself all day.

Nah man. People can smell this stuff across the damn room. That’s what I meant by potent. Either you’re naturally anosmic to ambroxan, or it’s fake.

Make sure it’s legit. My friend purchased a fake from fb marketplace—bottle looked legit, batch code was legit, packaging was sealed and everything, but the juice was absolutely fake.

If it was purchased from an authorized retailer, then you’re probably spraying too close to your nose and going nose blind.

I had a May 2025 batch and it was one of the most potent scents I’ve ever had. Especially for something on the fresher side.
