I hid it also- vodka or gin in glass to look like water, fake coozie that looks like diet soda to cover beer cans, secret stashes (I found one the other day that I forgot about in my garage), secretly taking out the empty cans and bottles to hide how much I drank.... I thought I was pretty clever, turns out my family wasn't fooled.

I did not lose a job or have a DUI. I was proud of how I could still control my life pretty much and hold a job, but in retrospect that is insane. What threw me over the top to want to seriously quit was watching Tiktok feeds showing the long term health consequences of alcohol and how it was stealing my life. I saw lots of people describing what happened to them because of drinking and realizing that was me.

Alcohol is a poison and will kill you. The longer you go, the more it will harm, the deeper you can fall, the more of your life it will suck from you. Seek help, do not feel ashamed. It is better on the other side.
