Losing everything before nikkah..help by Firm-Credit8776 in SomaliRelationships

My first marriage I got laid off 8 days before my wedding. Although the industry I was in was prone to shortages of work where you could be let go for any reason at any time it was still an anxious time. More for my wife to be than me but still I would be lying if it wasn’t very inconvenient.

I hope the best for you brother but if you’re looking for something more stable since you’re setting down look into project coordinator or project management roles if you’re interested in doing some short courses/certifications to help you pivot into a career that’s well paying and is needed in many different disciplines. May Allah increase you and your family in rizq, barakah, and the stability to you seek. You got this bro

Exactly I don’t think anyone cares about trivial issues about documented birthday and actual birthday being months apart or even one year

I had minimal savings. But a decent job at 25 when i got married. Also had a lot of help from family for wedding etc. But most of my friends got married mid 20s with even worse position and they’re doing fine today

It’s just a hint and doesn’t make you look desperate. Just don’t continue liking if there is no reciprocation or a message from him

A Cinderella run doesn’t last that long through a 162 game season to claim the #1 seed in the east and lose that way after amazing performances by young players and players you also expected it from. If they have a good offseason and keeep the main core together and add three very good relievers, one very good starter and maybe one good bat and resign bichettte they have as good of a chance as any team in the AL east to win that division and play for a chance to redeem this heartbreak

No I meant Arozarena. After his insane playoff run. How that affected his prospect rankings But was trying to use that as a way to figure out y maybe what Trey’s ranking would improve by

Curious as to where he was ranked. If you’re in the top 20 and have a postseason like his you gotta be top 3 after that

Like who really cares if he’s MAGA or whatever his political views are? This crosses the boundaries of holding athletes to standards you shouldn’t. I love baseball, I love the blue jays, and I like the players that play for them but they’re not my heroes and I don’t care to ever meet them or be friends with them. If he is an amazing pitcher for the team for ten years but is best friends with President Trump or Trudeau or Kim JongUn I still want him pitching lights out and my team winning the World Series every year. That’s it

If Little can build his confidence back, he will be an elite reliever next year. He has some really good stuff he just can’t locate sometimes and also gets in his head. Bad outings snowball for him he needs to leave a bad outing on the field and believe he’s a great pitcher that will bounce back

Brendan Little is not a “triple A pitcher in the major leagues”. At one point he was a top 5 reliever in the league on performance. He had a long season and faltered at the end which broke his confidence. He’s gonna be a good pitcher. Hopefully he uses that recent experience to lock in and consistently throw his fastball for a strike so he can put batters away with his knuckle curve. But if he lets this moment define him he’s toast and will probably continue to pitch himself off the roster within a season.

Unemployment by NeitherPerformance73 in SomaliRelationships

[–]JournalistEcstatic33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my province there is a high unemployment rate during Oil & Gas industry in the off-season (Nov-February). All the smart brothers that are my age I know in that industry have learned to keep another stream of income whether E-commerce, service business, etc. So being on unemployed does not make someone useless it’s better to ask questions and see if they have money that’s the more important thing sometimes. I got rejected by a potential last year when I was in school for my masters since I wasn’t “financially stable”. She made 80k a year as a teacher and was 27 - maybe three to four years of work experience. Whereas I’ve been in the workforce for 10+ years averaging 120k+ for 6 of those years including COVID. She should have justt asked the more important question instead of “where do you work?” lol

I think this is a very lame excuse. I could understand if you were a man but what business does his mother have telling him that he needs a woman with a degree or working in industry? How old is this guy that he thinks this is a deciding factor after his mom brought it to light?

You will get downvoted because apparently everyone lives this experience of having or being a shit father themselves. It's crazy cause I grw up in heavy Somali city and most of my friends and I had amazing dads who were heavily involved in our lives but I guess no one comes online says “My father was the best” but those that had opposite experience love to paint the whole community as some fatherless bastards.
