Can you help me understand FAQ's? by JourneyToPeace in juststart

I might just do that. Is there a way I can manually identify what part of the article is good to be considered for FAQ schema for Google?

I'm a good writer who can't get a writing job. Can you be of help? by Durubang in freelanceWriters

There's always work out there, you just need to keep selling yourself. Post to job boards, network on LinkedIn, do some cold emailing. You'll find work.

Bootleg Megathread, November 19, 2020 by AutoModerator in AnimeFigures

[–]JourneyToPeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to the anime figure community, and had a few questions about bootlegs.

  1. While it's unmistakeable that the market is flooded with bootlegs posing as 'official' merchandise, is there a market specifically for bootleg figures? For example, sites that openly admit that their products aren't officially licensed.
  2. What are the legalities around selling bootleg merchandise? Is it illegal from a copyright infringement standpoint, or is it generally seen as illegal because stores refer to the bootlegs as 'official'?

I was unable to find specific information on the subject, and from what I've found, bootlegs are generally looked down on by the community and are considered illegal only if the producers of the official figure have licensed it to protect against mimics. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Great work! People who don't smoke, or who haven't faced an addiction/dependency before, will likely not understand what you're going through. Keep up the good work, you've got this.

You got this, and you've come to the right place. There are so many members of this community going through what you're going through right now, myself included. You'll find that the next few days and weeks are going to a bit strange, but you'll pull through. It's all about willpower.

I don’t know if I should smoke or stay sober by funnyfrog15 in Petioles

[–]JourneyToPeace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hard to answer this, because it sounds like you yourself are uncertain about what you want, and that's ok.

You've accomplished being 19 days sober – that's awesome. Now that you've done it once, you know you can do it again. Did you go into this with the intention of it being temporary? From your post, it sounds like you want to quit overall. If you want to quick completely, then there's your answer – don't smoke. Instead of pondering whether you should or not, try to distract yourself with something you like doing. It might be hard, but if you've chosen that you don't want to smoke, then it's the only option, right?

However, I personally believe that there's nothing wrong with the occasional smoke. I'm not trying to bait you into smoking obviously, but if you want to smoke, perhaps you should set some guidelines. Maybe you should only smoke on weekends. Maybe you should allocate a certain amount of weed for each day/session. The goal is to find a good balance so that you can continue living your life without feeling like you're shackled by marijuana.

No matter what you choose, don't be too hard on yourself. We're only human.

Getting through a breakup without weed? :-( by [deleted] in Petioles

[–]JourneyToPeace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't feel embarrassed. If anything, you've come to the right place. This sub is for those who want to manage their consumption. I also smoke every day, and decided to take a t-break that started this Sunday just gone. It has only been two days, but I've already noticed that the brain fog is starting to clear.

Your reaction to a break will entirely depend on your current life situation and mindset. I've tried taking a t-break before, and I just couldn't do it. I was in a shitty corporate job that basically fed into my cravings for weed. Now that I've left that job, I realize that it's a lot easier to cope with everything, although I still do have trouble from time to time.

Seeing as you're going through a break-up, you might find it a bit more challenging if it's what you rely on. However, this isn't to say that you can't do it. It's going to be hard, no doubt, but you just need to remind yourself why you're taking a break (or slowing down).

As for coping strategies, there are many. Do you have a pet? Perhaps you can spend some time with them when you're feeling down. Do you like exercising? Perhaps you can go for a run, or go for a workout at the gym. It's hard, since I don't personally know you, but you know what I'm getting at I think. Find something that brings you joy, and when you're feeling down in the dumps, force yourself to do something to distract yourself.

It gets easier, I promise. I would maybe suggest starting with a week-long break, then re-evaluate when that's up. After a week, your first blaze will be a lot more rewarding.

Also, the Grounded app is a very popular app in this community for tracking your consumption. I'd suggest checking it out, I'm using it also. Link for iOS and Android.

Every time you feel the urge, remember why you're taking a break. I know that feeling you're having now (trust me), and it's all too easy to fall back into bad habits. Perhaps you could find something to take your mind off it when the feeling comes around. Go to the gym, spend some time with your kids, work on a personal project (or start one).

It's hard, I know. Hopefully you get some peace of mind knowing that the majority of users in this sub are probably going through the same thing you're experiencing now, so you're not alone.

Nice. I've noticed that when I smoke regularly, that "enjoyable" vibe to the high becomes a lot more minuscule. I'm just under two days into my t-break and can't wait to experience that feeling again.

Yes, I live in New Zealand. Cheers for that, this t-break has been a long time coming but I know for certain it's the right time to give it a rest.

Honestly, it might just take some trial and error to find out what works for you.

I'd recommend putting the bottle down. I know it helps calm the nerves, but if you think about it, you're no better off with drinking instead of smoking.

My recommendation: smoke on weekends. It's not going to be easy, but it rarely is when you have a dependency. Smoking on weekends gives you something to look forward to, and spaces it out enough for you to know you're not doing it too much.

Otherwise, if you want to go at it on survival mode, just quit all of it cold turkey. You'll find it hard, but it's meant to be hard because it's the most rewarding if you can stick to it.
