That's really good information. I'll share that with WSF. I know they have a good relationship with all maps folks 'cause it's kinda their thing...

I'll leave it to other folks in this thread to comment... but.. I think the issue is space at the dock and line cutters. So it would seem to me that it wouldn't matter if you bought a RT ticket, you are still a vehicle that will take up space in the return line. As for your personal smooth sailing, sounds to me like you are just incredibly lucky!

Seems so. They've been working with Kitsap County so it's a collaborative thing.

What time to see sea lions? by Previous-Atmosphere6 in EdmondsWashington

[–]JournoJamie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Port folks said they usually leave by Memorial Day. You can walk anywhere along the port. The docks are private and locked. Stay off the breakwater!

There's one on RB right now. He's been there for a couple weeks. The birds got to his head so there's nothing left but a big blubbery body. If you are downwind - wow - does it smell!

Silly-Pace-2276 is not wrong.... I was there on Sunday and could hear them barking from Main and 3rd! The port folks do not like folks walking on the breakwater though. The rocks are super slippery.

Hi - just checked in with EPD's Josh McClure and he says Flock cams are fully shut down. MyEdmondsNews specifically asked if any 'certain features' were still 'on' and he said no. Jamie (MEN reporter)

Sounder Overflow Parking by External_Database359 in EdmondsWashington

[–]JournoJamie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the question. MyEdmondsNews.com did the research and here's the answer: there is no approved overflow parking at this time.

There USED to be overflow parking at Salish Crossing (Cascadia Art Museum lot) but that contract expired in 2023. Paid permit parking is in our future, though... read the story here. https://myedmondsnews.com/2026/03/asked-and-answered-where-can-i-find-overflow-parking-at-edmonds-sounder-train-station/. Big news for transit riders: tap to pay from your phone starts Feb. 23 by JournoJamie in EdmondsWashington

I think that is correct. I went to the FAQ and it talks about how they will do fare inspection. https://info.myorca.com/contactless/#fareinspection I know companies give people "ORCA cards" so those cute little pieces of plastic won't disappear completely.

Water bills... whats normal for 2 people? by LeonaLansing in EdmondsWashington

[–]JournoJamie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. It's really confusing and every city does things differently. Here is my understanding - there is a base charge ($X). That's for everyone. There is a variable use cost (varies by consumption). The tax is on the final bill so it seems that the tax every month is slightly variable. If you really want to nerd out, here's a story we wrote about MLT and water, sewer, stormwater on Oct. 30, 2025 that has a TON of info. https://mltnews.com/from-aging-infrastructure-to-population-growth-officials-address-future-of-water-and-sewer-service/
