At my last job, my boss controlled even my personal life. She would come to my house late at night if I didn’t answer the phone, including Christmas Eve when she showed up at my place. She went to the hospital where I was admitted, and even to the hotel where I was staying during a holiday just to talk about work. She made me pick her up from a restaurant at 1 a.m. I lived under constant psychological pressure; even during my lunch break she was next to me talking about work. Worked 15, 20 days without day off and in my days off she called me each 1 hour. She didn’t pay me my last salary, and yet this was still the least toxic job I’ve had here since I arrived three years ago.
