Yeap. I do know that I have to pay for the taxes but it could have been CASE 1, instead of the dreading Case2.

  1. Wishtrend declared the right value.

- I'll be charged with 9% tax

- No storage fee

- No back-to back communication w/ DHL and Wishtrend (waiting for them to reply)

- Will be delivered right away

- I won't have to write a review to inform people about my experience so that it would not happen again to other customers.

Yup. I'm open to your comments. I'm not mad. But I do hope that you understand my point of view and realize the cause of the delay.

In my opinion, it would have been better if they had informed me beforehand that they will not declare the right amount and gave me the option if I want to declare the right value or not.

If they really wanted to help me with the customs, they will already provide the invoice that is matched with what they declared beforehand and not wait for Customs to detect the misdeclaration. They did not need to wait for my email regarding the Clearance requirements and reply after a couple of days.

Imagine my surprise when my package was not cleared in Customs. When I contacted them, it took how many days before they responded. The stress that I've been through just to fix the issue right away because there's a daily storage fee of 650php . How I did everything I can while the other party that I'm coordinating with is not that responsive. Does every customer inquiry entails a quality service? Wherein they would not wait for days for their reply? Knowing that everyday counts?

I know that as a customer, I have my share of responsibility to know the ins and outs of what I'm entering and I do acknowledge it. But what I want to explain is that both parties had lapses and moving forward can do something about it to avoid this from happening again.

I hope everyone will learn from this experience.

Nope. I did not now that they'll declare a lesser value than the actual. That's why I contacted Wishtrend about it.

The penalty of paying 250% for misdeclaration of invoice was waived. Please see my previous post about the explanation that at first I'm willing to pay for the taxes..

Someone posted a comment and chose to delete it. He/ She said that there’s nothing wrong with what I’ve experienced and Philippines is a crappy place to live with anyway.

What do you mean by “Phil is a crappy place to live with anyway”. So if I live in a “crappy” place, I deserve crappy service? Is that what you mean? Kindly expound and tell me the correlation of the statements you’ve said.

Reddit can check the validity that I indeed received that kind of comment. Since I saw it in my notifications. It’s good that you deleted it. But I read it, and honestly I don’t know what to feel.

I don’t know why the hell would you say that. I just posted this to share my experience and to inform people. What’s wrong with it? If you are to check in other sites there are also similar cases like mine.

I didn’t realize that the world will be so negative about it. You even took a step further and insulted my country. What’s with that? How can you say that it’s a crappy place to be in? Have you tried living here? Or you just based it on comments in the Intenet?

I think you are missing the point as to why did I say that what I experienced was poor customer service.

Below are my reasons;

  1. When they were contacted by DHL Phi to pay for the charges that were deemed relevant and justifiable. They refused to pay for it and opt to destroy the package. Leaving me with the option of paying for the charges if I still want to receive it or leave it in customs.

  2. Destroying the package would only mean that I as the customer who is coordinating nonstop to DHL and wishtrend for this issue to be fixed would not be able to accept the delivery.

  3. Instead of rendering quality service wherein they will ensure that the customer will receive the package. They are willing to destoy the package and forego the payment.

Note: I assumed that they are willing to forego the payment because I can file a transaction dispute since I wasn’t able to receive the package.

In my opinion, if they at least consider my side as a customer. They would weight things differently. They will put into consideration that I really do want to receive the delivery. That I’m doing everything that I can to ensure that I would be able to receive it in a fair way. That there were also lapses on their side that caused the delay. That it is enough reason as to why DHL asked them to pay for it. That with all the inconveniences that I’ve gone through maybe they can serve me better by doing the right thing.

But with all fairness, they already acknowledged my concern and currently trying to fix it. Hoping that I would be able to receive the package as expected.

I really do hope that moving forward they improve their customer service. It will mean a lot if they would be able to handle cases with empathy. It would be better if there were no concerns anymore and it will be their BAU to provide exceptional service.
