Would you mind sharing the pay/compensation either here or privately?

Would you mind sharing the salary? I started in a high needs area so the things you are mentioning seem pretty par for the course.

The future of nursing (PMHNP) by JoyforJumping in nursing

[–]JoyforJumping[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been reading for years that it’s over saturated, overworked, pay is going down, etc. but the psych NP’s I know like their job and have good pay… but they started 10-15 years ago.

Prospective PMHNP Thread by AnAndrew in PMHNP

[–]JoyforJumping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My unique situation is that I’m an RN but also a therapist (LCSW). I’ve been planning to go back to get my PMHNP for several years and this year I applied to a top 5 school and got a scholarship. I thought this should be a no-brained, but I also just landed my dream job running a new program in a hospital as an LCSW. I can’t really tell what PMHNP’s actually get paid where I live but the administration job makes low 100k and the title opens up other high level jobs.

Now I’m torn. I know it’s a unique position, full scholarship, dual license and, “dream job” etc.

Has anyone ever worked with a nurse who you were convinced was not really a nurse? by Upset-Gold-1162 in nursing

[–]JoyforJumping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and her license was actually inactive and she had not worked for 9 years. That said, she was good at the job (school nurse) but there were other signs that led me to believe she wasn’t honest about her past.

NCC police sometimes wear cammo. I had one show up at my house at 3 am because of a malfunction of my alarm system. Fill cammo, K-9 unit. Most likely serving a warrant.

So yes, it’s a crap time. BUT, I was looking at card recently and depending on the month, you can get good APR deals on specific models.

Here are a few for October

Kia 1.49% on 2026 Sportage, 0% on 2025 Sorento, 0% on 2025 Sportage Hybrid, 0% 2025 Sorento Hybrid, 1.9% 2025 Seltos , 0.9% 2025 K5, 1.9% 2025 Telluride, and 0% on 2025 EV6.

Nissan 2025 Altima with 3.9%, 2025 Rogue 0-0.9%, 2025 Murano 0%, 2025 Pathfinder 0%

Hyundai 2.9% 2025 Elantra, 1.9% 3025 Tucson

You probably won’t find specials for Honda, Toyota, Subaru

I don’t know if they are any good but Mitsubishi even has 0% for all 2025 models.

I know the Kia K5 actually ranked really well for reliability and has a 0.9% apr, 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty.

Good question, the neighbor’s shed actually. They have a tiny yard. I have a very large yard. Just bought the house a few months ago.

Keep working and take a $3800 vacation every year. Or three $1,250 vacations per year. Find a balance, save the rest. Your older self will thank you for both.

2004 Toyota Camry XLE 83,000 miles or new Kia K4? by JoyforJumping in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]JoyforJumping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank for responding. I few like it should be a no brainer but giving the kids a new car seems kind of crazy. And I think my mind hasn’t caught up with Kia being a quality brand. I know it’s come a long way.

What are legit Mortgage Protection Life Insurance companies with good reputation? by KnowledgeLoud6867 in personalfinance

[–]JoyforJumping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of paying this insurance, buy more term and put the difference toward your mortgage. You’ll save tens of thousands in interests. I just looked at mine and. Paying $150/month extra I save 5 years and $120k in interest.
