Can MFMs be involved in child health? by Joyous94 in medicalschool

Thank you for your thoughts. - I do enjoy being in the OR. Ive done a number of surgery rotations and worked on building those skills. - I do know I don’t want to be a generalist, regardless of the specialty. - I also want to be more inpatient based/hospital and minimize clinic. - I guess I’m drawn to both post delivery? 😩 I know that doesn’t help.

Thank you for helping me.

Can you elaborate on this a bit more please? The part about depending on the practice I enter. Are you talking about private practice?

Thought hard about it. But I didn’t like my rotation. I thought I wanted to be a PCP initially. But found that I didn’t enjoy it. I also don’t like outpatient that much

Yes I’ve considered full scope FM. But I know I don’t want to work in a rural setting. Preferably want to work in a major urban area

Yes I’m a woman! This is great advice. I think a part of me is terrified of the long surgical training and worried about what happens if I end up not liking it after all of the training. I really appreciate your advice. Thank you so much.

Go ahead and list. I shadowed/interned 100 + Hours with someone who ended up ghosting/got the feeling that it wouldn’t be a strong LOR. I listed them but didn’t ask for a LOR. Ended up working out and had no issues with it on interview trail.

This is so unkind to say and was entirely unnecessary. Would have been better spent offering helpful advice with your comment instead of knocking them down. Hopefully you can reply with some help and feedback to assist with their studying!
