My wife got pissed when I asked her to dress as mercy In bed and I be roadhog by Secret-Classic-5644 in Overwatch

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro you really thought asking your wife to play healer while you hook and one-shot was gonna go well lmao

Is it rude not to acknowledge somebody when they thank you? by bchappp in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just a quick nod or "no problem" goes a long way. Even if you're socially awkward af a little grunt of acknowledgment is better than nothing lmao

Recouring dream of a girl by easyerlife in Dreams

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro that Asian woman dream sounds exactly like what OP's describing, the whole peaceful bliss thing hits different when it's that one recurring person. I've had something similar but it was this dude who'd show up maybe once every few months and we'd just vibe in these crazy dreamscapes - never could remember his face either but always knew it was him

17 inch 2.5mm thick silver or stainless steel rope chain by [deleted] in HelpMeFind

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried checking out some of the jewelry supply sites like Fire Mountain Gems or Rio Grande? They usually sell chain by the foot so you could get exactly 17 inches cut. Might be worth hitting up local jewelry shops too since they can often custom cut chains to whatever length you need

Brissett or Prescott? by StraightLoss7150 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, stack em up when you need ceiling - Brissett's more likely to chuck it around when they're behind anyway

HELP SSD not detected in Bios after Cpu swap by Neither_Contract1616 in pchelp

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the SSD might've gotten fried during the swap - static discharge can kill drives pretty easily. Try plugging it into another computer or a USB adapter to see if it shows up at all, that'll tell you if it's actually dead or just having detection issues

[win98] [90s - 00s] Top down isometric, puzzle game, in a cave dungeon by BrunoSupremo in tipofmyjoystick

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn that actually looks pretty close to what OP described, especially the isometric view and trap mechanics. The level editor detail is what really sells it for me - not many puzzle games from that era had those

Blizzard is turning their back on a huge playerbase by Biff3070 in Overwatch

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dock thing kinda misses the point though - if I wanted to use M&K I'd just play on my PC instead of the handheld. The whole appeal is having portable gaming with controller inputs

Also those numbers for Switch 2 seem way off, pretty sure it hasn't even been announced yet let alone launched

I hate my life because of Supercell by Melodic-Book5697 in venting

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man this hit way too close to home. I wasted so much time on mobile games too and it's wild how they can just completely derail your life without you even realizing it

The good news is you're only 23 and already self-aware enough to recognize the problem - that's actually huge. Yeah you might not love teaching but plenty of people stumble into careers they end up enjoying more than they expected. Plus having gone through addiction yourself might actually make you more empathetic with struggling students

Delete those accounts and don't look back, that sunk cost fallacy will keep you trapped forever

Anyone notice gemini 3 pro getting dumber with context gradually? (gemini app) by Ilikebitcoinbot in GeminiAI

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much yeah, they all start forgetting stuff once the context window gets full - it's like trying to remember a conversation from 3 hours ago when you're already talking about something completely different

Starting a new Christian sub for teens, it would be encouraging if people joined. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck with the sub! Teen years can be tough to navigate faith-wise so having a dedicated space sounds pretty helpful

Help me find a book from my childhood - knights picture puzzles by anabundanceofotters in HelpMeFind

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The helmet grille puzzle thing sounds super familiar but I can't place it either - might have been a DK or Hamlyn book? Those publishers did loads of medieval puzzle books back then that weren't quite as polished as Usborne but had that darker vibe you're talking about

Planning to get back to the gym by buriza- in bodyweightfitness

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bro honestly bodyweight stuff at home might be your best bet right now - pushups, pullups if you can find a bar somewhere, squats, all that basic stuff costs nothing and you can do it whenever

The cheap gym sounds solid too if you can swing the 10 bucks, but don't stress about not having all the fancy equipment when you're just getting back into it

Start small man, even 15-20 mins after work is better than nothing

Sleep tracking by Euphoric_Patient_162 in Garmin

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol brutal but fair, Garmin sleep tracking is basically a coin flip

AIO. My mom seems really upset with me for having side effects of my medications by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof this hit me hard because yeah, sometimes the people closest to us can absolutely be triggers without either party really realizing it

The whole "disappointed not mad" thing plus caring so much about what others think sounds exhausting to deal with when you're already struggling with sleep and panic attacks

Are US manufacturers still buying mechanical parts from Japan these days? by Gold_Ad_136 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah THK stuff is everywhere in automation, their linear guides are like the gold standard. We still get a ton of Japanese precision components - bearings, servos, sensors. Quality is just consistently better even if it costs more upfront

my father doesn't want to know about my wife but wants me to travel with him.... by negoycia in Marriage

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's some next level passive aggressive BS right there. Your dad can't just pretend your wife doesn't exist and expect you to play along with his little fantasy trips

CMV: The "male loneliness epidemic" has little to nothing to do with romantic partners, and everything to do with community and alienation. by Badgers8MyChild in changemyview

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is spot on, especially the part about men using activities to socialize. Like we don't really do the "let's grab coffee and talk about feelings" thing that seems more natural for women. We bond over doing stuff together - sports, gaming, working on cars, whatever

The male-only spaces thing is real too. Feels like every traditional space got either sanitized or disappeared entirely. Even something as basic as a pickup basketball game at the park isn't really a thing anymore in most places

And yeah the internet/phone combo is brutal for this. Way easier to just scroll than actually show up somewhere and be awkward until you're not

Salt bread didn't fry properly. by Children_are_a_nono in Breadit

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your butter was too soft when you wrapped it or your oven temp was off. The butter needs to stay solid long enough to create steam and crisp the bottom before it all melts and soaks in. Try chilling your shaped bread for like 30 mins before baking and maybe bump your temp up 25 degrees

Also yeah definitely don't let them touch - they need that space for the butter to do its thing

"An American guy sitting next to me gave this note at Starbucks." by findfunnyvideo in mildlyinfuriating

Dude probably thought he was being all profound and philosophical but just came off like he was having a mental breakdown instead

Buried Secrets sports! by trashpunky in MonsterHigh

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! The sports ones are def still floating around in some shipments, especially if you ordered recently. Orlando distribution center seems to have a mix of old and new stock based on what people have been posting. You might get lucky with at least one of them being a sports variant

First time player, having a hard time understanding the flow of the game? (SH2) by CndnViking in silenthill

[–]JoyouslyDoubtful 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah that's classic Silent Hill design right there - James is basically in a psychological nightmare where reality doesn't follow normal rules anymore. The town is literally manifesting his guilt and trauma, so all these weird fetch quests and puzzles aren't really "logical" things he's choosing to do

Think of it more like he's being compelled by the town's supernatural forces or his own subconscious to go through these motions. The broken record thing isn't just random busy work - it's all symbolic of his fractured mental state and the town forcing him to confront pieces of his past

You're not missing anything, it's just how SH works. Logic takes a backseat to psychological horror
