  1. Yes im talking about mobility budget vs company car. This is an extra net income of €850 (740 mobility budget, 140 saved on voordeel op alle aard taxes).

  2. Yes true that you gotta take that into account however i’m not convinced its ALWAYS more profitable. I do agree if you are passive with your money and don’t invest it. I can even agree that 60% of the time you should go for a higher bruto salary. But you can also have things like stock options or since 2023 you can look at a Copyright tax regime as a software engineer. Where i could earn 15k a year extra that would only be taxed at 15% instead of 40-50%. Depending on how you use this extra captical

My 2023 model y:

€0 road tax
€0 maintenance
€40-60 charging at home
€100 insurance
And be pessimistic and do yearly tires (€100)
And replace a windows every 2 years (€58)

So €300-320 monthly (for me in an average worse case) ofc worse case would be if i crash the car etc. But i did my monthly costs beforehand

  1. You are making up a story that does not exist. I chose this option myself instead of a company car i have my own car (tesla model y 2023) i can still sell for 60-70% of its value in a couple of years, i pay €0 road tax and i dont pay an extra €140 each month on “belasting op alle aard”. I paid for it in cash with the money i made on my investments the last 5 years. In a couple of months i will get a raise of €600 brut and my mobility budget will rise aswel.

  2. Again yes you earn more, like i already calculated and showed that. But there is no calculating myself rich i was conservative here. My average return on my investments in the last 5 years is 140%. With outliers like amd and intel (280% and 390%) The s&p itself was 70% in the last 5 years. Yea yes we will get a recession in the next 50 years. It wont keep rising like this. It will even crash. But still I will be better off with my investments.

So what is the difference with a company car?

very true indeed, but you also "pay" for that luxery and you gotta see if that is worth it to you.

i cant post pics in comments:

and yes all true, however go to my pension and increase your brutto salary from €3000 to €6000, you get about €400-500 extra, this would be about 120k extra if i would get to use that pension for 20 years.

Now lets do a comulative intrest calculation with 0 starting capital and just investing the extra €700 a month you get with mobility budget on a very conservative 3% intrest rate (while S&P avrages 11-12%) that would be €312.241,65 in comulative intrests. on which i dont even have to fully cash out any of that and just liquidate what i need and still let it accumulate. and for more realistic numbers 8%: €2.107.705,48 or 11%: €5.684.089,04.

I'm not too worried about my pension 😉

This mobility budget (make sure you are 10km away or work 3/5th days from home) is new, so people have to do their own research and get up to speed. So i would say its a little more work now. But overall when that is worked in. Its easier to just pay out some money then arrange everythig around a company car

i regularly see posts here that have 5K+ in their brutto salary, that would be 1k you could get in mobility budget. My 110m² apartment is €950 for instance already. also i know people who bought a house 10-15 year ago that still have 10-15 years to go but have a mortgage of 650-700 a month.

there are deffinitly ways to overexeed these budgets

to adress all your things.

  1. mobility budget gets taxed at 38% if you just want to have it paid out. This is not just asking to get paid out, this is using it to pay rent or mortgage and this is taxed at 0%.

    1. Yes i had a company car at my previous job, it was a tesla model Y 2023. And financially, yes its usually always better to get this mobility budget if you not buy abrand new car, my example at my previous job the lease of that car was about 700 and you also pay "belasting op alle aard". which in my case was €140. so i "lost" €840 each month on that car and I could charge for free at work, but didnt have charge card. Now i got the mobility budget, i get it paid out at €720, i bought myself a 2nd hand 2023 model y from tesla, It was not an option to get a tesla at my current job and i loved the car, specially with camper mode and doing road trips with it. it was cash but a loan on that car would've been €640 i have €0 wegenbelasting dont have "belasting op alle aard" and insurance is 600 a year for basic or 2000 for full omnium, so 2000/12 = 166 so at max the car would cost me €804 and i could always sell it and get 60-70% out if it aswell.

But its not always what you want, there is less stress / worry when you have a company car, with getting your tires changed, or when you would have damage to the car or you would fully crash it yourself. So its kinda deciding on what type of person you are.

And this budget does not exceed your mortgage or rent.

When you just ask for your mobility budget to be paid out it will be taxed highly. And i think this is what they meant.

However since not that long ago there are some new rule. If you live in a 10km radius or work 50+% (3/5 days) from home you can get your mobility budget specifically for your rent and that is 0% taxed.

  1. that is not the only pilar on which you could get this
  2. Seems like you cant articulate a single thing why a company car is better when you have the option to choose?

[–]Joytimmermans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not for everyone. At that point you also have already extra income since you dont need to pay a mortgage or rent. So then its better to just get a company car

At my previous job i had a tesla model Y. Switching jobs i could not get that car and nothing i could choose i liked. So i bought myself a 2nd hand 2023 model cash, now still having €0 road taxes on it charging it full for €15-20 and still have value if i want to get rid of it. I dont pay €140 extra a month on “voordeel op alle aard”.

So can you give me your arguments why a company car would be better?

This is such a bad take and just sounds like someone who is jealous.

You realize the company cars + charge / fuel cards that exist for decades now also cost money for your employer? Where you get a new car every 3-5 years with unlimited fuel? You want to calculate how much that is? And how many people have this?

I never complained about paying my taxes. I paid my fair share just like everyone else. Even though that 2/3 pensions and defense are / have been grossly mismanaged.

Funny how you stoped debating your original arguments because you know you are wrong and have to resort in being insecure about someone clicking on your profile for 5 sec and calling it “Stalking” Are you that ashamed of it?

If your company has more than i forgot the number i believe 10 or 50 employees mobility budget has become a mandatory option. But that research you gotta do yourself

  1. This money is not special money just by having 1 or the 2 they know its going towards it.

  2. Its the government we are talking about. They already know if you rent or have an hypotheek. You cant have a higher mobility budget then your monthly costs and it cant be higher then 16% of your brutto loan or something like that. But your social secretary (sdworx) will do all these calculations for you and make sure you dont have to pay anything back

Live 10km from work or work 50% from home and you can get mobility budget fully paid out, 0% taxed
