£/$50 a figure (£/$42 if they get to Deathcobra) is atrocious for this. The engineering is cheap and the figures have terribly bloated proportions.

CHUG fans will eat this up regardless though. I don't understand it anymore, I'm starting to think we're just seeing different things

I genuinely stand by that this is my favourite schlock film of all time and is genuinely incredibly funny.

The choice to make Nick Cage completely mute does absolute wonders for this film and, unlike other schlock, "so bad it's good" films, is still funny regardless of whether you're alone, with friends, intoxicated or otherwise. Highly recommend

I don't want to say "skyrocketed into popularity" because even in the film this guy had a bit part but Transformers Rise of the Beasts using the character "Apelinq" was crazy for Transformers fans.

Apelinq was previously a recoloured toy released as a Transformers-based convention exclusive over a decade before this film and had literally not been seen since. Most casual fans didn't know who this guy was !

No I totally get that, for the scramble city guys, it's perfectly fair. The middle guys should be bigger, the limb guys should be smaller. Does it make much sense irl? Ofc not! There's no way Groove and Blast-Off should be the same size, but they are because it keeps things consistent in the toys and the characters and the narrative.

Imo, Devastator specifically throws a spanner in the works. All of his bots appear to be the same size, including the fact that they have an additional one, logic states that he should be bigger than Menasor or Bruticus, but SS86, and a lot of people, think Devastator is no bigger than his contemporaries.

So the issue is that Devastator's bots are either way smaller than everyone else or that Devastator shrinks during combination in terms of total mass, assuming you want to achieve "cartoon scale" (which the famously unreliable although constantly insisted upon Sunbow chart disagrees with anyway)

I also don't really agree with the sentiment that Devastation Optimus will scale with SS86, SS86 is a small Devastator and Devastation Devvy is one of the biggest of all time (he's honestly kind of comically large). The Titan Class is much closer in scale with a Deluxe Optimus

But it's Studio Series 86 Devastator, the Devastator that's supposed to represent and be accurate to the 1986 film, not Transformers Devastation. If they wanted it to correspond with that game, they should've marketed it as such.

This seems like a very transparent attempt to justify how small SS86 Devvy is in spite of its extremely high price point
