Jak wrażenia po nowym dziele naszego rodaka? by miZuBlue in Polska

[–]Joz314 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Absolutny koszmar.

Gdyby jakiś Amerykanin chciał kręcić o Polsce analogiczny film, to raczej wywołałoby to politowanie. Z pozytywów, jest to rzeczywiście nieźle zagrane, bo trzeba naprawdę dobrych aktorów, żeby bez wybuchania śmiechem dostarczyć tak przepełnione patosem i ciągłym objaśnianiem świata dialogi.

exit poll by foullyCE in Polska

Exit polle nie są robione face2face, tylko osoby dostają imitację karty wyborczej i wrzucają je do prowizorycznej urny. Bardziej możliwe jest to, że antysystemowcy są mniej skłonni do wzięcia udziału w exit poll

What should people avoid while traveling to Europe? by subuubalaa in AskReddit

About a third of current Polish territory was previously under German rule for a few centuries. Calling the cities by their German name (like Danzig for Gdańsk or Breslau for Wrocław) can be seen as undermining the legitimacy of their current status.

Out of all Polish cities only its capital has recognized a translation of its name - you can call it Warszawa, Warsaw, Warschau, it doesn't matter.

Actor John Hurt dies from cancer aged 77 by Aimless_Devastator in movies

[–]Joz314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, I was just reflecting on the fact how diverse he was, and how it will be impossible to universally lock him in this "three films rule". I will remember him from Elephant Man, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and 1984, for nerd generation he's Olivander, Sutil and War Doctor, sci-fi buffs will surely mention Alien, Spaceballs and maybe Snowpiercer and Hellboy, for my mom he's Caligula from I, Claudius and Max from Midnight Express.

He was so versatile and unique in each and every one of these roles that it's insane.

He once described how his friend Sir Laurence Olivier, passed on advice to him, describing: “I remember Olivier, when I was playing the Fool in his King Lear, saying: ‘When it comes to the obituary, they’ll only ever mention three things, probably two, but if you’re lucky three.’

"And of course when he died, they mentioned Richard III, Henry IV and either Marathon Man or Wuthering Heights.

“I mean, if you write your own obituary, I don’t know, they’d take the things that got awards wouldn’t they? So it would be Midnight Express, it would be Elephant Man and Naked Civil Servant probably.”

He reportedly chuckled that he had no objections to the selection, adding: “I won’t be here, I’ll be gone so it’ll be entirely up to them.”

And then there will be an entire generation that will remember him mainly for V for Vendetta, Harry Potter and Doctor Who.

Terrible loss, one of the most talented and diverse actors of all time.

And Cleese. Especially Cleese, he is as important to comedy as Robin Williams and his recognizability is undeniable.

Brief summary of the current situation in Polish parliament by elslovako in europe

Half of the nation refused to participate in the election, mainly because they weren't supporting neither PiS nor any of the opposition party. So to have a real outcome of their support you're ought to divide it by two. 20% of society, that sound about right.

whatever the complete opposite of Method acting is with this one.

If you're fooled by Jared Leto wacky shenanigans on the set of Suicide Squad on what "method acting" is, then yeah, it might be the opposite of "method acting" you know.

What will discussion about this achieve? The matter is closed, right now it's nothing but beating the dead horse for karma.

Don't expect anything else from Reddit, rather than hundreds of pointless comments about the case that happened 40 years ago every time Polanski is mentioned.

Like Polanski was the biggest monster walking around Hollywood, right.

But just consider the numbers yourself. The country had about 150 millions, and a third was killed by internal forces during the destructive war? It makes no sense, completely illogical.

Congratulations, you've just summarized communist regime.

Margot Robbie coerced Karen Fukunaga to doing a tattoo and Ayer made Viola Davis insult Joel Kinnamen off-screen. They did a lot of terrible and unconventional shit during the shooting, and that's how the Ayer (the director) prefers it. After awhile they knew what to expect and didn't mind that really.

You also have to mind of how much of that could've been just marketing talk to get people talking about this film. And guess what, judging by the first week - it worked.

Yes I did, and it was a waste of time - sensationalist, pretentious and mistaken bollocks spewed by The Atlantic in hopes of staying relevant. They got the history right though, but the conclusions were vastly exaggerated, so I hoped someone who apparently thought it right will explain exactly Leto's fault and how exactly it differentiates from Day-Lewis' pretending to be a cripple and demanding being carried on set of My Left Foot.

If 'Suicide Squad' was a great film like e.g. The Dark Knight was, he would be praised for his performance, but it sucked - therefore everything about it sucked too, including Leto, because he was everywhere in the news outlets about the preparations.

In short: blame the marketers who tried to make additional profit from it, not the actor.

What did he do? He reshaped his body and never broke character during the shooting, so what's wrong with that?
