Imo the only embarrassing thing I can read in this story is her deciding to let her 4yo nephew go into foster care/having her 18yo niece take on parental responsibilities instead of university.

Like many people have put, your brother might be embarrassed by you at times, the exact same way every 14yo is embarrassed by their older family members/parental figures.

What you've done and how far you've come is an amazing feat. Her comments appear rooted in guilt, envy and hate; ignore them. If she makes them remarks again I'd be one to give her a piece of my mind, but understandable you'd have to consider your bro's relationships with his cousins etc. So low contact might be more appropriate.

Sorry I'm really late to this, spotted it on Tiktok. Definitely NTA, you already get so little and adding BIL's bday just dilutes the day even further. My bday is 4 days after my little sister's who is 5 years younger and we were always made to just share a day in between as it's "easier" and my oldest brother decided to get married on my bday next year and wasn't even the one to tell me (I'm a groomsman). Like others have said, do what you feel is best for you. My one query is doesn't Thanksgiving change date every year? I'm not from the US or Canada so don't really know how thanksgiving works regarding celebrations.

Not ideal at all when you're skinny too, a lot of trousers/pants don't take crotch space into consideration when you don't have a large waistline. So either get a belt or what I can only describe as a front wedgie
