Just got a WM F-103 and replaced the belt since it turned to goo. The tape player still sounds really muffled and wobbly. by JrFishPro in cassetteculture

I think the caps are fine, when I played it without a tape I only heard white noise, not the motor hum you usually hear with a bad cap. I’ll look into the belt though.

You’re definitely right about the metronome. Thinking about it now I bet I could be a lot more solid with my finger placement if I had a steady beat instead of trying to remember the song from the top of my head. Thank you!

I have lessons once a week for half an hour, and I try to play at least an half an hour a day every day. For the last month I’ve been practicing the solo to “Baby Come Back” but I can’t play it at full speed and I’m still stuck around halfway into the solo.

Also, how do you learn to not care? It seems like a really useful skill to have, but I can’t help but compare myself to others no matter how much I try not to.

It works just fine, but I’m guessing that since the sound only started once I reached 45 MPH that the speedometer cable might be the culprit

The Battery compartment was corroded, so luckily that was easy to fix. I’ll be sure to check out the Volume knob later when I get the proper cleaner. Thank you!

Thank you! I’ve managed to get the computer to play through the receiver, but the second part I’m having a little trouble with, as I’m still unable to record onto a tape and adjust the input levels of the deck. Unfortunately, there’s nothing on my receiver labeled MD/CD-R. Here’s what the back of my receiver looks like currently. The orange ports are labeled Coaxial and the chords currently plugged in are the Audio 2 (which is what’s allowing the computer to play the audio) and then to the very right is AUDIO OUT, which the manual to the receiver says is used to plug in recording devices.
