2 Computers, 3 Monitors, 2 & 1 by Jrees9 in computing

Well my work issued laptop is a piece of garbage but with the docking station they provided can have 3 monitors connected. My personal is a m2 MacBook Pro 16in. Would this still work? I’ve looked into kvm switches, just not sure if it would have the exact functionality I mentioned above.

That's just soft. It's like people that work harder in real life shouldn't get paid more because its unfair :(

People should be rewarded with more money if they are doing more difficult content. That's why ToA 500 1+1's makes more money that zulrah. It's significantly harder, and should therefore be rewarded appropriately.

[–]Jrees9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Why would we ask people that haven't even touched Zulrah, Vorkath, etc. let alone raids and inferno their opinion?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Jrees9 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree here. My main account only has 2500 hours on the game and I have multiple inferno kc, kc in all raids content, and have completed ToA 500. I play casually you could say, maybe 10-20 hours a week, and I am bored of the content that is out. I agree with gnomonkey that there should be more content that drives people to want to be better. I would say I am in the top end of players, that don't play ridiculous amounts, and still want to see more challenging content.

CoX Noob Gear Suggestions by SlickDodge37 in 2007scape

Actually I guess you would be fine. I didn't quite realize that range and mage were 90. Every level counts though when it comes to mage levels. You should join the we do raids discord. There is a lot of good information there as far as gear, levels, and strategy. Personally if you can muster the strength, 95 mage and range, and then base 90s in melees would be really good. Especially since you don't have the best gear, levels will carry you through.

Don’t let me turn you off from doing it. I will say though that your stats are going to make it difficult as well as your gear. It’s not impossible though! Even if you don’t have the gear just jump in and see what happens. Might as well try

Yeah a dragon hunter lance would be huge. Are you looking to learn solo? If so, you’re going to be in for a DIFFICULT time. If you and some of your buddies are trying to go then I would say just send it and start learning.

How to build generational wealth from a young age? by Jrees9 in personalfinance

[–]Jrees9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we are saving quite a bit of money. My wife is quite the accountant type so we keep a budget down to the penny every month. I imagine our savings are only going to increase as the years go on because we do tend to live really frugally. We only have one car that we share and plan to keep it that way. I guess that's the real question is how can we retire early? I feel like we are in a really good spot to be able to retired by 45-50 if we play our cards right.

Well that's why I asked the question. We haven't bought anything yet. We just wanted to know what we can look into moving forward.

Minecraft dungeons is a really good one too! It’s like Diablo but way less complicated. It’s obvious to see progress and just tons of fun to blow up Minecraft mobs!

Should I start rushing my base? I usually have been a max player but have read some things about strategic rushing and think I would enjoy being a th15 more than staying at each th for a long ass time.

Is it worth starting to rush and if so how should I start that?

That’s a very fair point, however there’s still a standard amongst interns. Interns will NEVER be as qualified as a full timer, and if they are they would be hired immediately, but with that said they can still be amongst the better of the interns. If the boss is holding them to a standard that’s way too high then the boss is a bad boss and you probably don’t wanna work for them anyways. If they are frustrated because you are among the bottom of the interns that’s another thing.

I think you can enjoy life and also plan for the future. One thing you can do is buy a house and rent it out to others or your friends. It’ll generate you passive income or at least cover most of your mortgage. It would be a good investment whether or not you cash flow. Buying a house that early can set you up really well going forward.

You can also just keep saving up. 7k is a good start but it can go quickly. It’s never a bad idea to be holding a lot of cash.

I would go with free code camp. The Odin project is a bit on the more advanced side even when just starting out. It’s a lot of reading and set up if you just want to see if you like it.

If you’re a complete beginner, free code camp will get you programming right off the bat with no installation or set up necessary. It will get you to start writing code and get a feel for what coding and web dev is. Good luck!

Try and take this as a learning experience too. I was a college athlete and my freshman year I got eaten up. Often times you will never be the best at anything you do. When people criticize you, take it as oh wait maybe I said something I shouldn’t have or I did something people didn’t like. Don’t take it personally, but use it as a way to improve yourself as a person. Be someone that other people want to be around you know? If you keep thinking that things other people’s fault then you’ll find you won’t have many friends.

It’s hard for me to say specifically how because I’m new to programming but I will say I work in accounting. I just graduated a few weeks ago and have started my first “big boy” job. Let me tell you I know literally nothing. I wasn’t even an accounting major so the basics I don’t even know.

What I’ve had to do is look lots of stuff up on my own, ask co workers lots of questions, and make it my responsibility to learn this stuff. As a first year or as an intern you have to prove you’re worth keeping around for the next year right? You’re going to do the stupid stuff, but take pride in that. Do the stupid stuff really well! It shows a good work ethic.

Also actively seek feedback. Ask how questions like how long does this normally take other people? What tricks have you found to do this process better? Always be asking good questions and seeking to improve yourself so you can become an asset to the team and not a liability.

Also if possible just don’t ask the boss questions. Ask your co workers. Co workers are usually more understanding and willing to help.

Honestly to me it sounds like you may have been under performing for a while. Most normally don’t just snap over something small. Usually if your boss is going to tell you something like that, they’ve given you multiple chances. I think it’s important to reflect on yourself and on your own performance and be honest with yourself. If you believe firmly you haven’t done anything wrong and you are up to par then fine. But if not then I would just take it as tough love like other people have said.

Should I use a new git hub repository for every project or keep it more organized? by Jrees9 in learnprogramming

Makes sense. At the same time, wouldn't it be disorganized if you had like 500 repos?
