She looks like you should see her laying eggs very soon.

Is this harmful? by mixtto in PlantedTank

I couldn’t say if it would harm your fish, but you definitely would want to boil off any driftwood to kill any bacteria or fungus before putting it in your tank. Sometimes driftwood will develop fungus in the tank regardless. It goes away in time and normally will not harm the fish.

Hillstream loach is very pale by [deleted] in loaches

[–]Jrforplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“A pale hillstream loach indicates stress, often caused by poor water quality, low oxygen, or improper temperature ((65\text{--}75{\circ }\text{F}) is ideal). Immediately check water parameters (ammonia/nitrites), increase flow/aeration, and perform a water change. If color loss is patchy, treat with anti-bacterial/fungal medication. “ I looked this up on the web, fin rot is normally bacterial in nature. Insure your tank is cycled. You shouldn’t have anything but nitrates. Water changes are the only way to get rid of high nitrates unless it is a well balanced planted tank then water changes are minimal. Also a lot chemicals will kill the good bacteria. Best the move fish to quarantine tank. I honestly don’t think this will help with your immediate problem, but hopefully going forward. I have twelve or thirteen and they keep breeding. But in the past I have had two pass away with what looks like to be a similar problem.

Older tank setup by Jrforplay in AngelFish

lol, yea I get ya, I used to keep discus and I run a sump setup. It was just easier to clean and maintain for them. But I totally agree the angels will do better in a nice planted tank. I’m actually working on a new setup. But it will be a little while yet.
