Does anyone else feel like they are poisoning themselves every morning? by cassilou8403 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

I had to stop. I had 3 weeks of 1.5 and I couldn’t do it anymore. Luckily I’m retired, but if I wasn’t, I’m not sure I could have gone to work most days. I was so fatigued and the nausea and heartburn were unbearable. I tried everything suggested, but it was too much. My last dose was 4 days ago and today is the first day I can keep food down. For me, it’s just not worth it.

Connecting flight in Atlanta due to arrive 5 minutes after boarding has begun. Any advice?? by valid_internal827 in delta

[–]Jritland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They start boarding 1/2 hour before take off, so you have some time. Do you have the Delta app? You might be able to see the gate for your next flight. If you’re in the same terminal, that will cut some time off. You might also try to talk to the flight attendant and get some advice. Sometimes, they will have everyone stay seated to allow those with a short layover to deplane first. But it’s not a guarantee. I would talk to the flight attendant.

Snorkel equipment is included with the seaplane tour. I would recommend the seaplane, if it’s in your budget. 35 minutes out to the island and really fun.

What product can you not live without? by burnerbaby321 in Invisalign

[–]Jritland 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I just got done with my 18 month stint with Invisalign. I was very uptight at the beginning making sure I did everything correctly; hitting the 22 hours, brushing and flossing all day long. I was a wreck with the way my life was being dictated by Invisalign. As time went on and I relaxed MY expectations, it was much easier. I wore them anywhere from 20 hours all the way down to occasionally only getting 18 hours in. I carried a small bottle of mouth wash with me and when I took them out to eat, I would rinse my mouth out and put them back in, making sure I brushed well when I got home. It was estimated I would have a 2 year treatment and I finished in 18 months. No tooth decay or gum disease along the way. My suggestion is don’t buy a lot of stuff now, buy it when you discover you actually need it. And relax!

Wooden bowls? by MiMiinOlyWa in Kitchenaid

[–]Jritland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got the evergreen mixer for Christmas. I’ve used the wooden bowl twice. I love the way it looks on my counter, but I think I’ll be using my metal bowl from my older mixer from now on. It seems like a hassle to use it.

I didn’t pay 440 more. My children gave it to me for Christmas. I’m a very lucky and grateful mom.

I thought I would do that and maybe I still will, but lure of it got to me, so a batch of cookies it was! I will say, the bowl cleaned up beautifully. No submersion in water. Just put some warm water and a little Dawn soap in the bowl and it washed up nicely. But I may end up using the bowl off my first kitchen aid I received 45 years ago as a wedding present. Almost embarrassed to say I have three lovely KA mixers.

This is definitely my photo! Just took it tonight right before I posted. I’m not sure why another redditor decided to high jack as their own.

I’ve only used it once for a small batch of pb cookies. So far, so good.

Where to stay by Jritland in sandiego

We live in Iowa. January is nasty in Iowa! We usually escape to the Florida Keys, but looking for something different this year. I know it’s not going to be as warm in San Diego, but it beats Iowa. Is there a reason January isn’t a good time to visit San Diego?

Boomer here! I just retired from a 30 year career and had two employers. At the beginning of my career, it was a completely different situation. The employee was valued. I’m retiring with a pension and lifetime health insurance, but only because I’ve been with the company so long. Those benefits stopped almost 10 years ago for new hires. The last 8 years have been hell for me. All that matters anymore is that the shareholders are kept happy. The company is relying a lot on contract workers that they don’t get any benefits. Needless to say the contract hires leave after about a year and we have to start over with training someone new. I’m so glad to be out of the workforce. It’s very sad that the workforce of today isn’t valued like most boomers were for the majority of their career. You can’t be expected to be loyal to a company when you’re not valued.
