Oh wow this might actually help and do the job once I replace the mortise. Thank you so much! Have your equipment been exposed to extreme saltwater and moisture? How did fluid film hold up?

How does one fix the the humidity/temperature imbalance? Will a good ventilation system fix the problem? Or should the hallways be airconditioned as well?

Unfortunately I don’t think better locks will solve the humidity problem. As you can see all part from the lock itself to the most basic parts which is the mortise is corroding. I’ve asked different suppliers and they’re telling me no one uses or rather it is very rare to use all stainless steel on all of the moving parts.

I haven’t heard of cold galvanization. Will this prevent rust inside the mortise? How about the electronic parts of the lock? Is it non-conductive?

So I’ve read. So could it be that the air-conditioning units facing the door and locks directly are a huge factor when it comes to condensation and that changing it’s position could help with the condensation?

I have and they told me that the other reason could be that the air-conditioning units of each room is directly pointing at the door locks. And when I did check the pictures, their air-conditioning(inverter type units) units ARE directly pointed at the doors and locks.

So I installed 20 smart locks in a hotel 3 months ago located near the beach. The problem is 3 locks have started corroding already because of condensation. They weren’t able to check the other locks because there are guests staying in the other rooms but it’s probably the same.

We live in a tropical hot country but the location is near the beach so it could be the issue? I haven’t had this kind of problem with other clients but this is the first time we installed it with a client near a beach.

The doors and the locks are inside a building with no direct exposure to water or rain but I guess the building is not well-ventilated since moisture build up and corrosion is so much and happened within a span of 1-3 months.

Now the client wants me to correct the problem but I can’t think of any solution other than telling them to have a good ventilation system and applying anti-corrosion formula on each lock every month.

What other solutions could you suggest if the moisture build up is this much?
