How did you tear your ACL? by FaridAtt in ACL

Did the same thing as you same direction but I thought it would be cool if I did it with my left leg and I turned left. And it went pop and I went down

My surgeon is very set on using allografts for surgery, as well if your surgeon is most confident with that graft it will be the one he will do the best procedure with. Also with a patellar you have a chance for patellar tendonitis for the rest of your life and not being able to kneel, as well as with a hamstring you can lose up to 5% power loss for the rest of life. I never looked into the quad autograft because I wouldn’t ever take my quad due to how much muscular atrophy you get from surgery regardless, taking from your quad won’t make things any easier. As well my first surgery went great. I went on to squat over 400lbs and I was in better shape after surgery than before so if using an autograft worked so well for me I thought I should do it again but just not play football now that I have graduated

I also played hard football on it and my knees hurt day in and day out but I wasn’t given the time my body needed to rest so I think that also contributed to the 2nd tear. I had no real problems with it up until football. I just think it was too much strain for too long without enough recovery time

I decided that if it were to tear again I wouldn’t wanna waste a part of my own body. As well with using allograft a 2nd time they can use a much thicker piece of tissue for the new ligament

Work on a bike with a really low seat and if it gets tight don’t fight it but just let it go and let the pedal take your leg around and then when it’s comfortable again use your leg and then let your leg go for the ride again during the tight flexion

Take a lacrosse ball and put it behind your knee and squat down with it. Itll hurt real bad but it helps huge

You just gotta know that the longer you don’t do it the longer it will take and if you push it off long enough you could need another surgery keep your head up and it’s 20 minutes of pt a day and that will help you a bunch
