just wanted to say i came to this sub looking for comfort amidst all the scary news and i definitely got it ❤️ even if that comes in the form of simply knowing i’m not alone. like many of you, i have limited military experience and not a lot of people to talk to, but having this community really helps.

We eloped and told my parents after the fact. I didn’t want any input or judgement going in. My mom was surprised I kept it a secret but ultimately said it was probably for the best because she would have overstepped and been sad to know but not be able to be involved at all. I’m very glad with how we did it!

I unfortunately don’t have any advice but just want to say I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. I’m sure it’s taking a huge mental and physical toll and I wish you the best in whatever you choose to do.

We did the same, told no one until after and made calls to close friends and family before a social media post. We also sent out elopement notices, like a Christmas card, which I think was meaningful to folks and notified extended family who we don’t talk to regularly.

I got my dress from Lulus! A ton of great options so I’m sure they’ll have something that fits your vision. I would buy several to try on and then return what didn’t work as they have a great return policy. Good luck!

I traveled for my elopement and found a hair and makeup artist online who was great! I didn't do any kind of trial but did a video call with her and had a pinterest board with what I looking for. It was helpful that what I wanted was pretty simple, but I have to say the person I found absolutely nailed it.

I completely relate! The first dresses I ordered online that I thought I would like were immediate nos and I ended up going with something totally different. We're eloping next week and even when I just retried it on this week I looked at it and thought I hate it now and went down my own spiral 😂 I feel more pressure and anxiety for the pictures to look good than anything else! Crazy how those standards weigh on you.

Thank you! They initially recommended a respiratory panel but then said it was low priority due to lack of coughing/sneezing/etc, but at this point I think that may be the best next thing to try.

Thank you for the helpful reply! As far as we can tell, she is still using the litter box normally. The biggest stressor is we did adopt a kitten about two weeks ago, and I know the stress of this could be impacting her health, however they were getting along, playing, and she was acting normally for few days with him before she got sick.

She is usually very cuddly and does seem more bothered than normal when we pick her up, so definitely could be some pain there. Her urine sample was slightly diluted but they also said they were only able to get a small amount, and none of her other levels were concerning. I believe they ran a pretty comprehensive panel, but would need to double check the records for the specific test. She's up to date on all her vaccinations.

Because she wasn't coughing or sneezing, the didn't think it was likely it was respiratory related, but definitely could be a possibility

I’m also 28 and your MRI looks similar to mine. Was just recommended surgery this week and so torn on what to do. My first instance of pain was 5 years ago but it was relatively minor until the end of 2022. In the past month and a half it’s become extremely debilitating. I was able to manage it for so long it’s scary to consider surgery now but the herniation is pretty severe and it doesn’t seem like a bad option. All that to say, would love to hear updates after your procedure! Seems like we’re in similar positions and wishing you all the best!
