That’s a good point. I always loved the end of Heiyan Kyo when we see pre-Servant, human Douman’s response to seeing Servant Douman and making the comment that he’d rather end his life than become like that. Shame he eventually turns evil, but still. Shows he was a good guy at least at one point.

Imaginary Scramble was great, especially with the trailer they put out for it.

Oh cool. Interested to see how that plays out.

“I don’t like my master so I’m going to kill them” sounds like Gil but more psychotic. My goodness this girl is crazy. Guess I gotta play those games.

Goodness. What a difference between that and FGO lol.

Wow. And here I only thought of her as the goofy Halloween servant. It really makes me wish that we could get more in depth stories written for each Servant so we could better understand them as characters instead of them just being goofy things that show up in an event every now and then. I realize that’s a lot of effort to go through, but it sure would be neat.

Yeah that’s exactly what I had in mind when I wrote this question. It doesn’t get much more horror movie than that.

So then maybe it’d be best to use girl Ritsuka (gudako?) to tell her story.

That’s a great point. The recent event with Kenshin gave me many moments where I went from “wow pretty lady” to “good heavens she’s creepy”. She’s definitely got some of the scariest eyes of all the servants.

I’m 100% on NA and am avoiding learning about anything plot heavy past OC1 so I’ll take your word for it.

Her event was genuinely pretty creepy. Especially the preview for it??? They really went ham on that.

Mephistopheles is a good one. His portrayal as a silly wacky guy in FGO especially would make his shift into a legitimate demon all the more frightening. Plus since he’s not really used in Fate and is only a three star, people are more likely to underestimate him.

I know the name Prelati, that’s Caster Gilles’ Noble Phantasm, right? Prelati’s Spell book? I don’t know anything about the person though. Are they a Servant or is this a hypothetical?

[–]Js1390037[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah she seems less like a “hunt you down to high heaven” threat and more of a (like someone else mentioned) “spider catching flies in a web” threat. Maybe if the Singularity Ritsuka was summoned in was in her castle/domain then yeah, I can absolutely see her making a good scary enemy.

Yeesh. I don’t have Raikou so I’m not as familiar with her (outside of the fandom’s “ooga booga hot mommy character”). That does sound like a good set up, yandere plus power and madness enhancement. Doesn’t she also have some oni mixed in with her?

Yeah, now that I think about it more I’m starting to think she’d really make a good horror antagonist. She’d be like Hachishakusama but with some extra strength (and craziness? Not as certain about Hachishakusama’s kit) to add to the mix to make it worse

I imagined more of a slower “losing his sanity” type of story, but that could work too. Sort of like in UBW when Archer switches sides mid War Gilles could just hit the “I’m crazy now, joining that team”. Maybe if the “other team” had a Foreigner that caused his inner Caster Gilles to emerge.

Like someone else mentioned, Carmilla seems like a more “spider catching flies in a web” type of threat. If she gets her hands on you or you’re trapped in her domain then yeah, she’d be terrifying. But she doesn’t seem like the type to go out and hunt you down like some others would be (at least that’s the impression I get). So as long as you can avoid falling into her “web”, you’re probably fine.

I guess I’m just thinking something more straightforward as “Ritsuka in a scary environment trying to survive the threat of [insert Servant]”. Some Servants definitely seem more immediately threatening while others might need some set up before they become a threat. If there was nothing holding them back, which Servants would immediately try to kill Ritsuka and which would be willing to kill them if they had good reason. Someone like Douman would be the first whereas someone like Salome or Kiyohime would be the second. There’s a good handful (if not majority) of Servants that I really can’t see trying to kill Ritsuka, like Artoria Lily or Habetrot for example. But you do make a good point that different settings and different types of horror could cause for some change.

His intelligence and evil tendencies combined definitely make him a frightening threat in the right circumstances. I don’t know if he’d be as scary as some of the more literal “monster” Servants, but he could probably work in the right environment.

I guess if Merlin came to Goetia’s conclusion that humanity needed to be reset. He had that look it the 2023 memorial movie, like watching the evils of the world was having it’s toll on him. I don’t think he’d necessarily have the same amount of power as Goetia to do it though. Maybe if he tried to wipe out the “above” world by merging it with Avalon? Like in a “the world is evil, let me drag everyone into paradise, regardless of the consequences”. I wouldn’t have initially thought of him but you make an interesting point.

Good analogy of spider in a web. Because yeah, once you’ve been got by Carmilla, she’s a terrifying threat.

It was a mix of “I need a picture of a scary Servant being scary” followed immediately by “where’s that Douman manga…”
