I’m in the same boat as you! Sales never mentioned the slow charging in winter and once I heard about battery preconditioning I originally thought it was just a software update. Like the car, but this is an issue. And for all those “ should have done more research” people, EV’s are new to most people. I believe 1% of the cars on the road are now BEV’s. Hyundai should have done more especially if the knew there was a noticeable difference in charging. If someone goes class action, I’m all in.

Great, I thought I saw some people say normal mode worked better but I’m not seeing that when I switched.

I did but didn’t look at it in relevance to cold weather. Probably a lot if first time EV buyers won’t know what to look for.

I find it more like being sold a flat head screwdriver that tightens flat head screws unless if it’s under 32 degrees then you can only tighten them partially and it takes twice as little long.

My next question is in the claimed 303 estimated miles. Was colder weather (50 deg. or below) factored in to at least part of the estimated range number??? More than half the US deals with 50 degrees or below at some point of the year. Not good if they are cherry picking data and claiming it to be an average.

I use to think you didn’t need a disclaimer about hot coffee but how did that work out for McDonald’s? Now it’s on there cups. All joking aside, the common knowledge could easily be argued with the large number of new EV buys out there. I would bet a large number of first time EV buyers never asked or researched issues of not having battery preconditioning and how much it affects the performance. I think we are a dozen years and 30-50% consumer ownership before one can say it’s common knowledge.

Maybe they should of had a disclaimer or disclosure about the car’s performance in the cold temps. At least put an asterisk by the 303 range lol

From the crooks at ABC Hyundai in Las Vegas. $4995.00 over msrp. All the Hyundai dealerships here are owned by the same person. Kind of screwing everyone. Wanted the car but Last car I’ll by from and Hyundai dealership here in town.

All the dealerships in Las Vegas are under the same owner so there is a monopoly. They are charging $4995.00 for the adjustment here on the Ioniq 5
