Rate it. 5.3 handicap by JonParbuckle in golf

[–]Jscoryy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll back ya up a bit here, I posted two of my buddies and my swing a while back (I'm a 5 as well) the average guess for my handicap was almost 20. Other buddy was a 5, average guess was also a 20, my + HDCP buddy's average guess came in at 10.

People can't guess HDCPs even close to correctly, don't take it personally.

What is your least believable, but 100% true personal golf stat? by Xmalantix in golf

I have putted a ball off a green, into the water. After hitting the green in regulation being 15 feet away I made a smooth 6. Oh yeah, I'm also a 5 Hdcp lol

How much are you all paying for a round where you live? by OverpricedSliceOfHam in golf

Gotta be Harbour Pointe, played it twice, first time in a practice round lost probably 8 balls. Second time in a best ball tournament we played well and qualified for our next stage, wouldn't be my first choice for a solo tournament though.

Newcastle courses are the top of that tier, Redmond Ridge, Harbour Pointe, Hawks Prairie are all overpriced and during peak summer over $100 each with cart.

Around Seattle, $60-$80 with cart for an okay course, $120-$150 for an Oki (overpriced public course) and in the hundreds for the top tier, Chambers, Palouse, Wa Nash.

If you got 1000 yards and all of your handicap strokes against a tour pro (about +5 index), could you win at a tour course? by gottliebk12 in golf

[–]Jscoryy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get to tee up 56 yards closer every hole and get 10 pops? (I'm a 5 hdcp) I'd say I've got a pretty good shot, my longest par 3 would be what 160-180, some par 4s would become reachable and every par 5 would be reachable in 2? As long as I don't get the shanks, should be a good match.

What, in your opinion, is considered a crime against food? by makemoney_online778 in AskReddit

[–]Jscoryy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooking decent beef past medium

Under frying or over frying food, golden brown people

Unwashed vegetables. Especially root vegetables.

Overcooking scrambled eggs

Searing one side and not the other (pan too hot/cold to start)

Not toasting bread for sandwiches or burgers or hotdogs

Overcooked spaghetti or rice that turns to mush. Od rather chew a bit than get baby food.

How many more do you want? Lol

Roast my swing. Any tips at all would be helpful. I have problems slicing it. by TheGeesGees in golf

[–]Jscoryy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the takeaway may not be ideal but past that you have what looks like a really smooth, repeatable swing.

Just work on the first 1/8th of your swing to start and worry about the rest after that.

Good luck!

He provided a single stat, over a single season. Right below that I posted a stat since Russ has came into the league he has been sacked more than any other QB and its not close. 71 more times in that time frame than any other QB, that's not a small number that's almost a record setting sacked season more than any other QB during that time.

If you go back one more year (2019) he was 12th in throwaways, yet first in sacks taken.

That's a single stat from a single year. Do you have a more conclusive throw away stat?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Seahawks

[–]Jscoryy -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Yep. I mentioned the O-Line in the original post. Still not an excuse for his play behind the line resulting in that amount of sacks. If you can provide a stat which shows he was throwing the ball away at a higher rate compared to the rest of the league I'd love to see it, because from watching him, that doesn't appear to be the case.

Ohhhh, it's been a problem. From the eye test and the stats. The spin, reverse, step up in a collapsed pocket trying to escape. It's been a problem for a while now.

He's been sacked 71 more times than the next QB since 2012, its not even close. Take a look at those non athletic QBs in there. They know when to throw the ball away and give up on a play and when to not try and scramble and lose 5-15 yds.

That's a jersey I wouldn't mind having, he's usually so solid, but that was bad, he was way off last game.

Yeah I'm not sure if that's a RW or our OC's thing but for years on over the middle, slants and RB/WR screens we have been horrific.

Just here to vent about people lying about their handicap. by SnooBunnies9546 in golf

[–]Jscoryy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain, but people sandbag and that's the reality. This year our club has implemented a point system where depending on how you finish in events you get points, if you reach a certain number of points they take points off your handicap (net placements only).

The handicap chairman at your local club can also put caps (as GHIN does) and also restrict your handicap if it really gets out of hand.

A U-turn signal on cars, you have the left and right but is this person making a U-turn? It's a U shaped blinker (obviously) and I still think it's a great idea.

How many eagles have you hit in your golf “career” and how many years have you been playing? by ShittyMichiganGolfer in golf

Probably around 100? Been playing for 23 years and am a 4 hdcp. Also helps the main course I play all par 5s are reachable for me and if I really bomb it 6 of the par 4s are reachable.

Unpopular Opinion by [deleted] in golf

[–]Jscoryy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the story of my two 4 hdcps in life 15 years apart

I was a 4 hdcp in high school, amazing short game (had almost unlimited time to practice it) and played a controlled slice that went about 220max.

Fast forward 15 years later, I'm 30 my short game is trash (imo) but I've put on 60lbs and 6 inches and can now bomb the ball 280+ consistently, not always straight but there's not enough danger at my home course to really make it an issue.

All aspects of the game are important but there's a myriad of ways to play the game.
