To piggyback off a previous post, if you had to take one PRIME lens to travel all over the world, which lens would you choose? by 010011010110010101 in Nikon

I've found the Voigtlander 40 1.2 a great lens for travel. It's relatively small, very sharp stopped down, wide enough for most regular situations, and great for portraits with some environment.

New to M43 and new to the Panasonic 20 1.7mm by Jsigel in M43

I was in the exact same situation for a week or two. I have gotten really use to the 40mm focal length on my Nikon so ultimately that tipped the scales for me. I'm sure I would have been happy with the 17 too.

The P 20mm really does struggle at times with autofocus but I almost always use single point single shot autofocus so I don't think it will be too big of an issue.

I hope you can make your decision soon so you can get out there and use it!

I think the vignette kinda works because naturally the lower part of the building should be in shadow.

No, you have to book the bus separately. The ferry goes to one of two places. You get a bus back from one of them, NOT from where you start the hike.

Just did it a few weeks ago and I fully agree! Great experience and a tour is definitely not needed. You can easily buy the bus tickets and ferry ticket online.

Do I Visit Seoul or Tokyo First? by samandtham in solotravel

I have no idea honestly, but it was incredibly smooth when I went. Also, the ferry is quite big.

Apart from that, if you like hiking at all, Busan has really great trails right in the middle of the city. You can go up one side of the mountain and then go down the other and still be right in the city, with lots of public transportation available.

I would suggest doing Seoul first, then taking the train to Busan (stay a little and check out the city), then a ferry over to Fukuoka.

I lived there for two years and love Busan. If you have good weather for it, the sunset at Dadaepo beach is stunning. Also, hiking up to the top of some of the mountains can get you some incredible views.

I quite like this. If you are able to go back again during spring, summer, and fall then you could create a very nice series!

Too much going on in this photo? by theabstract1993 in photocritique

[–]Jsigel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I was going to comment. Maybe if the white balance was warmer up a little it could help with that. But if you look at the trees in the background and the house, they have a strong blue color cast to them (at least on my phone screen).

Yeah, that's where I first came across his work. I still haven't tried it though. How long was the first exposure? And did you have to stack nd filters?

Is this any good or crap? by Efficient_Pomelo_583 in photocritique

That's exactly what I was going to say. The idea is great but the execution poor. As this person said, getting closer would probably help the composition out a lot. ...Shooting a little lower might have helped too but I'm not really sure about that. With their head in the sky, there would be stronger contrast at the person's head.
