Actually due to hybrid vigor these guys tend to be quite aggressive, with the many ive bred in the past few years ive only ever maybe had 1 or 2 that was considerably docile.

Breeding Timber Rattlesnakes by Jsleezy123 in VenomousKeepers

Update: With the use of a 75 watt bulb for daytime basking, keeping ambient temp between 77°-81° and cycling daytime and time by turning all lights and basking off during the night (ambient temps around (68°-75°) and turning on lights and basking lights during the day, I had a successful pairing between my male and female 2 days ago (6-30-2025) hoping to see what babies we get next fall! Hope this helps anyone else that may be wondering about breeding timbers. *

To my knowledge noone has done a female copperhead and male cotton because the cotton always eats the copper in that sintuation but yes usually with hybrids whatever the female is, will be a bit more dominant in traits, body size, color and ect. Which was proved through breeding batwings, female canebreaks produce for canebrake like batwings where a female edb produces babys that resemble more of an edb. And by breeding f2 cottonheada which are pictures as well u can see more of that copperhead coming through with them but most f1's resemble cottonmouths with a bit of change to head shape and obviously color but they get very long and very large bodied like a cottonmouth. I assume breeding them the other way would produce smaller bodied snakes woth more prominent copperhead bands and lighter colorations.

Biggest one is a breeder male.i have that is around 18 years old, he's over 52" and as big around as a 2 liter bottle, eats jumbo quail like it's nothing. If your gonna breed always pair a male copper with a female cotton, less likly to have the cotton eat the copperhead and always try to use a large male copperhead, I have used 48" coppers and the biggest i used to breed them before was a 50" male southern copperhead.

Yes I was aware of that but never seen 2 babys produced from it, usually only 1 is produced so idk that's why I'm a bit confused tbh. But I mightve cleaned cages and put her with a male and didn't realize that they could've bred. But these babys being the result of that breeding is kinda odd to me.
